Tom Wilson does what the league allows him to do. He doesn’t write the rulebook or run DOPS. Ethics notwithstanding he is very effective at playing a style that the NHL has deemed permissible. And to his credit, he’s added another dimension as a legit scoring threat.

Complimenting dirtbags you dislike is pretty easy I think, like the Tkachuks and Bennets and Marchands (not that I dislike him) are so obviously good players that you can't really ignore it. Even Matt Cooke had a solid run of being a quality contributor. The harder part would probably be getting fans to compliment the overpaid bum section of their roster since many feel like those guys got the bag and stopped trying.

I got some random guys come up to me at a event I was attending tonight to tell me how much I look like Brad Marchand. I'm 25000km away from north America. Can't escape it. No girls hit on me though... The NHL should pay me for this promotional opportunity.

Jarry sometimes plays a month of Hockey on a great level when it doesn’t matter.

Marchand.

He's tortured me and my team for 15 years, and it wasn't until this playoff run where I finally realized what makes some players special. Marchand is old, small, and not exactly "fast", but he is so intentional with the puck.

Every single time he gets the puck, he's going to shoot in on net, pass it across the slot, or cycle to the D to get something on net. The beautiful breakaway finishes or goals like in game 5 are just the cherry on top.

I honestly think he made me reevaluate hockey players and what leads to winning.
