He will make less than that. He’s not gonna make the same amount as Seider who gets more minutes and has more points. I’m willing to bet it’s 8 mill or under.
Ghost was pretty much brought on to nerf Seider's PP time ahead of his contract negotiation.
Gustafsson honestly probably not much different, though Edvinsson will probably never really get there because of ASP's arrival.
Edvinsson is outproducing Seider 5 on 5 and his contract year puts him under a $104M cap compared to Seider at $88M.

With a quickly rising cap now, this mindset cannot continue. It could be no more than leaders percentage of cap at the time of signing. But any agent who falls for not letting a guy get paid after the cap rises 15m to keep players on friendly terms deserves to be let go.
Seider had been around longer and won the calder so he wont get 8+ ... extend him this summer 7-7.25 ×8 I think it's more than fair

hes got a dozen pts less than seider, who's in his 4th year. Highest I see is 7.5 which is 60 million, hed be a fool to not take that contract and run

I never said he'd make more than Seider. I said that basing him $1.5M under Seider considering cap inflation is illogical.
Nevermind that his agent will dismantle your "Seider produces more argument" in two seconds when he points out that Edvinsson is outproducing Seider 5 on 5.

Yeah, but you could make that case for guys like Seider/Faber/Sanderson too.
I think a lot of these guys don't wanna pass on $60M and risk getting hurt.

Points seem to be much easier for teams to ascribe contract value to compared to individual defensive play. Faber has scored a bit more than Edvinsson but has the reputation of being a top defensive player. If they are roughly comparable with a higher cap it wouldn't be surprising if that is the sort of long term deal Edvinsson's agent targets. If Edvinsson is the player that Detroit fans say he is he's worth it. In a few years $8.5-$9 mil won't be outrageous.
Seider had multiple injuries before playing in the NHL.
Though Edvinsson does seem to go off once a game looking like he just got shot.
