At this point I would be happy with a conference final appearance. Is a Cup finals appearance enough to sway? Or an ECF appearance?

Cup finals - YesIs a Cup finals appearance enough to sway? Or an ECF appearance?
I'd think management would look at a ECF appearance, where we were very competitive, and run things back... I guess it would depend on how that would go.Is a Cup finals appearance enough to sway? Or an ECF appearance?
I agree re. Marner. It's like Nylander last year - they should've waited. No way his price was going go any higher than what they signed him for so why the rush? Same thing with Marner, signing him for 13 million or even more would be insane. What, do they think that if he finally excels in the playoffs he's going to want 15? The 8 years he's been in the NHL, he's turned from a 100 point guy into a 40 point guy once the first 4 playoff games are in the books. I need to see that change before I sign him, never mind giving him a raise.I wouldn’t do it barring a vast underpayment, but I had the same stance for nylander and we saw how that played out
Marner shouldn’t be signed before playoff time unless it’s 11 or under, I know that sounds ridiculous but then what’s the point in signing him earlier. Might as well wait it out and see how the playoffs go, not like we are missing out on anything
Tavares would need to be under 5 and less than 3 years. I don’t want to commit anything more to him, and he still has to show he can be effective at least in the playoffs unlike last year and the florida series. If he’s that level than let him walk.
How about not sign them at allMirtle, Versteeg, Bunkis, McKee, Bourne have been on record saying Leafs should wait until after the playoffs before signing Marner and Tavares. This morning Korolnek and Feschuk said they do not see a reason to sign the pair before seeing how the team performs in the playoffs.
I'm on record saying there is no reason to sign them before the playoffs unless they give the Leafs a sweet, team friendly deal.
Hopefully 8 years for both.Absolutely. Lock em up.
Protect the core four.
15 mil for Mitchy boy.
10 mil for the Johnster.
May as well wait, if Mitch wants 13 there is no point in signing him early. JT, maybe we can sign early, just depends how much he wants.I very much doubt the team will wait that long given that it didn't with Matthews or Nylander.
Even you said no more than 11. It won't be but it needs not to be close to 13 for me.May as well wait, if Mitch wants 13 there is no point in signing him early. JT, maybe we can sign early, just depends how much he wants.
Ship has sailed to trade 34 or 88. Give Marner a NMC and you sink or swim with the 3.wait to do anything after the season is over.
Trade Nylander or Matthews in the off season and sign JT to a long contract to bring down the cap hit and sign McDavid and Marner in the off season.
Correct , if we lose first round or even second we may have to rethink a lot of things. Afterall, this is a business and they put themselves here. They could have a horrible playoffs and devalue themselves.Mirtle, Versteeg, Bunkis, McKee, Bourne have been on record saying Leafs should wait until after the playoffs before signing Marner and Tavares. I do not think you want that to hang that on the new Pres. and you sure as hell don't want to make him the highest paid Leaf unless you move 34.No argument for signing them before. If they tumble again it will finally be Shanny's head in spite of the fact he and Tre share the same brain. Let the next president make Marner the highest paid Leaf.
Voting no leaves you that option. How about not sign them at all
