Cancelling the tournament over 4 positive tests is just not reasonable.
im not following why the infected person is not put in quarantine and replaced by another player. Do they not have extras available like a taxi squad? or could have had a taxi squad allowed for this tourney? Do testing daily on the active players too

Just seems to me they did not have contingency plans in place for this tourney...

Czech tournament was well attended, but a lot of the people at the games were people who traveled from Canada. The tickets were an absolute bargain compared to what we pay here. I had a blast, but realistically this tournament makes a lot of money that's used to offset the costs of other competitions.
This tournament will make a lot of money in Finland, Sweden, Russia, The US or Czechia too.

LOL

I haven't really followed this at all and don't care for the tournament but didn't the IIHF cancel every tournament EXCEPT for this one? And they let teams play games and then cancelled it?!

TSN has much influence in matters at the world Juniors, good or bad it helps making it profitable unlike the women's or the lower groupings.

And it's cancelled. Right call. A little bit too late. Should've been cancelled before it even began.

We've been running sporting leagues for a while in a COVID world, how many of these young fit athletes have gotten infected, become seriously ill and died? We can't live in a world with absolutely n0 risk and completely rob a generation of the only youth they will ever have. I know this is all developing in real time so it's difficult to determine the best approach but the best approach CANNOT be "no events ever until we have 0 cases".

They have been constantly tested and every positive one have been put on quarantine. Health is more important than one tournament.

Not so sure, our 2003 age group is terribly bad. We will be lucky to avoid relegation if they are bringing that back next year
You have a lot of good 2005 and 2004 born players I mean its not completely unlikely that you’ll get all your 2004 born players back next year.
