A fairly simple poll.

Many fans are calling for change to the Leafs front office staff.

Some want a new coach…perhaps someone like Trotz.

Some want Dubas fired and have a new GM take over and make the necessary changes.

Some want Shanahan replaced and have a new president who brings in a new GM to take over and retool the team.

Many fans support Dubas and want to give him more time to get the team to the promised land.

Vote in the poll and share your thoughts.

If the Leafs want to win, relocate to Arizona. They might actually get treated fairly by the refs.

New President, New GM and then let the new GM pick the coach and decide the new vision for the future.

Clean front office. Their philosophy and mindset is of: 1) loser attitude, 2) easily satisfied, 3) self-congratulatory 4) incompetent, 5) victim personality 6) absolutely ZERO foresight

Need new vision and new voice that is competent and has foresight.

Need to be careful here with what counts as coaching change.

The coach in charge of the PK is brilliant. He needs to remain untouched.

Keefe...with this guy it's a matter of upgrade. If nobody better out there stick with him, if someone better out there, make a swap. I mean, it is Trotz......

I understand calling for changes to the GM and coach but I really want to give them one more year to try to figure it out. The team finished with 115 points and had the top PP and one of the top PK units. They are doing some things right.

Let's face it, this team had won the series if Kerfoot doesn't double down on stupidity. If they had won the series I honestly believe we would have gone to the Finals. There would have been no other Vasi out there to steal a game 7 from us.

They do have to make tweaks to the lineup. Bring in players who know what playing in the playoffs requires. Miky and Engvall don't know.

As long as shanny stays I don't care what happens.

I do like Dubas but at same time other teams are winning the cups. He's not the only capable GM out there to build a team.

I know shanny will bring in management we would be proud to have running the team. So I'm indifferent if they clean out GM assistant GM coach etc. He's never let us down finding people to date.

Leafs want a cup, Trotz is a better coach than Keefe and can teach better defensive responsibility (which is what the team needs). And he's won a cup / knows what it's like to make playoff runs. Seems like an obvious move
Can he work with Dubas and can Dubas work with him though?

Dubas hasn’t really shown a pattern of wanting to work with other older experienced NHL executives and front office staff. He seems to gravitate towards younger individuals closer to his own age.

Trotz will be 60 in July.

the time for firing
Firing whom though?

I think many posters thought changes should have happened last summer. When the Leafs didn’t do that, many figured it was do or die this year to make the playoffs and win a round.

They didn’t, but now suddenly because the Leafs were at least competitive, it seems we’re back to trying it all over again one last time.

Dubas doesn't seem to play well with others when it comes to more experienced, veteran management and coaching in the game. So unless that pattern changes I don't see how the Leafs can bring in some experienced people in the front office who could help with this or that. So I think as long as we're stuck with Dubas we'll be seeing the hot shot young executive reinventing the wheel his way, gradually becoming more conventional over time.

Agreed.

Hmm that's true. And Keefe is definitely Dubas' guy, IIRC they have a pretty long history don't they?

But, I feel like you only have two years left, in a lot of ways it's cup or bust for this core. So maybe you have to throw everything you can at this. If you can upgrade the coach (and Trotz > Keefe), I think you almost have to

The Dubas/Anti-Dubas debate is the ultimate :deadhorse. I don't consider myself a Dubite but I do feel he's done enough good things to warrant more time. I believe a change in management/vision at this stage is just as likely to result in a setback than a step forward.

Keefe is a tougher call, but Dubas won't fire him anyway, so it's a moot point if Dubas is kept on.

GM should’ve been gone last season
