Can I interest you in a gently used Tristan Jarry?

I've wanted to see what Gibson could do on a better team. If Anaheim takes 50% (which they likely won't) I'd listen.

I think they'd consider retaining so long as they got something useful back. We're not talking anything too high end either, I think a really good role player (for example good PKer, faceoff guy) would do it. Although they'd have to figure out a new backup solution for Dostal, as Suchanek getting hurt kind of screwed their immediate depth.

Isn’t Gibson legitimately bad now ?

He's only played a couple games this year due to injury, but looked pretty good so far. Sample size is very small though. Might want to wait and see if he's really back.

It's been hard to really judge him the last few years given the team in front of him ... they've not been "normal" bad defensively, they've genuinely been historically bad.

There's certainly risk there at full salary, but with retention it's not a big risk at all.

In seriousness.. I do think that pyotr is great and I like Anderson. So what happens if you trade for a guy and then Andersson is healthy? Seems risky.

But. My suggestions for a platoon. With Pyotr are the same ones I want for my Oil.. Mrazek, vanecek, Blackwood and Vejmelka.

No reason to panic, Pyotr has things under control. We will play probobly 80 % of the games if the canes wanna see him under a heavy workload.

If we can't get Blackwood re-signed, what would you offer up at the deadline? He's singlehandedly kept the team in multiple games that they had no business sniffing out points, and really seems to have turned the corner in reviving his career. Futures of some sort would more than likely be the ask.

The problem is that Carolina would need retention and SJ has no slots.

Andersen+2nd for Nedeljkovic+cond 3rd (latest of our thirds)?
Dubas would get roasted for that deal.

Anderson is an injured 35-y.o. pending UFA. He had no trade value.

Your own guy is worth more than a swap of second and third round picks.

Had Carolina excercised some good pro scouting, stolarz and thompson were both avail via free agency and they decided to keep the injury prone whose won nothing andersen

lol what have you seen him play?

they would be lucky to get a second, or even a third straight up

Picking up a third or a second straight up is better than swapping a third for a low second.

Andersen has no value to the Penguins. If they have to take his contract back to make a deal work, then they should get a sweetener for that, too.

Upgrading a 3rd to a 2nd for a goalie we don't need and getting an expiring deal? I don't think he'd get roasted.
