Voted yes to can his ass, but definitely don't expect it to happen until MAYBE in the offseason.

First, we do not know what his mission from above was. Maybe it was strictly waste this year developing certain defensive habits and ignore offense until they get those things right to his satisfaction.

Second, unless he is bag skating the players to death or sneaking into their rooms and beating their legs with bars of soap; they need some accountability as well. You don't go from skating like the wind and forechecking non-stop in a couple games, to being literal statues who only move backwards the next bunch of games.

This tells me they are dogging it on purpose to try and get the coach fired.

He absolutely should go. You can still start improving mid season with a positive change. But I would agree that Verbeek is too stubborn and will let Cronin f*** up the whole season before doing anything about it.
agree...and the sad part is he really needs to take a microscope to this team and there is still time on this season to make a run.....I think if there was another coach brought in (a ESTABLISHED NHL coach) who expected to win, verbeek would be able to get a better sense of who we can go forward with and without....they cant afford to just piss away another season, and if it stays the way it is then going into next season you are 6 months behind (hopefully) where you could have been......in other words, he needs to be going into this off-season without ANY question marks on or about the current team. it was a bad call to bring in a coach who is trying to prove himself at the NHL level, trying to coach players doing the same thing...this is why IMO there is such a stagnant vibe around this team, no ones how to take the next step and bringing in "vets" to do a coaches job doesn't work anymore

Exactly. Time shouldn’t be lost in acknowledging a change is needed and moving quickly. Even letting an assistant finish the season while providing new direction is a step forward.

Of course depending upon how much coaching blame belongs to Cronin vs Verbeek could heavily influence a decision to forge ahead, status quo.

Yes.

The Ducks will not win a Stanley Cup with him at the helm.

The young guys are for the most part taking a step back.

If you can't win and you can't develop talent, then there is no reason to keep him.

My mind is still not changed.

Cronin should be buying Dostal a nice steak dinner. Saved his ass yet again last night.

He won’t be let go mid-season but it Verbeek really wants these kids to progress to the next level his next hire should be Someone with NHL experience.

These last two games prove that the Ducks have enough skill to win games but they still need to control the shots against.

Also, I thought Cronin was clueless but how can you take Gauthier off the PP for Killorn who was never good there in his career and his way past his prime. I get that’s Clune’s decision but I’m sure Cronin has a say in that . He is the head coach.
