Should Chicago allow Bedard to play at the WJC?

I mean their biggest star missing four home games including the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field isn't in their interest, injury or no injury.
Winter Classic at Wrigley Field! The chances were already zero, but knowing the team wants to sell about 50,000 tickets to a game makes me think they might not just send away their marquee attraction. I think the odds are now in the negative. Lol

The kid obviously needs some morale boost, and playing at a very popular and important in Canada tournament could be one. Especially given how bad Canadians failed last year. The tournament isn't long, 2 weeks at most, and Chicago is competing for another top draft pick so they don't need Bedard that badly anyway. I'm sure he needs positive emotions.
Sure they could be they won't, besides despite his struggles this year he is clearly an NHL player in a slump.

Also call me a cynic but maybe you started this thread so that Bedard can miss some games and some guy in Philly might score more points then a thread about him being "better" would be incoming?

You're not, the second I saw it and saw who it was made by I knew what it was about, as should anyone who has been here for a few years.

Lol, right now Michkov looks better no matter will Bedard play at the WJC or not. And there are enough of posts about this in other threads to not start another thread just for this reason. But if you wish you can blame me for Bedard looks terrible so far, it will be funny.

No.. it's an extended slump. Hopefully he can break out of it. Playing in a tournament he destroyed two years ago isn't what he needs to play his way out of it.

His slump is mental, there is some kind of "bad program" that running inside his mind, and he can't stop it. He needs to reset his mind, and WJC could be the way to do it, nothing more nothing less. That's the only thing that I mean, I'm not gonna watch the WJC anyway...

It's NOT going to happen but...

I don't think it would be a bad thing. If you're Bedard and you are playing with 2nd rate players night in and night out, a change might do you good - I truly cannot remember seeing a team as bad as Chicago.

Well, when the team you cheer for hasn't won anything noteworthy in almost half a century now you reach for any small victory you can I guess.

Desperation can sometimes reduce a man to such behaviour.

Would love to see it, but happening in a million years.
1) would be huge red flag, raise a lot of questions
2) he dominated as a 16 and 17 y/o, he doesn't need to prove anything
3) Injury risk backlash
4) Would not aid in development, could actually hurt
5) Winter Classic - he is THE draw for this game

That said... send Celebrini!
