He made an insane save at 7 min and 45 secs into the clip. Then some nice saves at 8 min and 10 secs in. Carried the Rangers to the win.
It must be a good feeling to have a russian goalie who can steal the game. i wish TBL had one
Then keeping his team in the game even if having cold muscles. Soccer GK's can watch the game for ages and then pull off a miracle save.Shesterkin turns into a soccer GK
If so he would only have to stand there and watch for 90% of the game
We have fans that believe that they could take one of the best players in the NHL off the roster and they’d be able to play amateur GM and build a better team. Delusional.Carries NYR to victories but isn't worth his ask? NYR fans can't have their cake and eat it too.
12.5 minimumbest goalie in the NHL

Just seems dumb to me, you have a player that is the best at his position in the league. Instead of breaking the bank for him you would take a chance to get something better? What is this, Tinder?I wish the Rangers had a good team that didn't need that. Or a coach that optimized the lineup.
Ideally the Rangers get a good goalie that's not the best in the league and get some better skaters with the money they save. But knowing the Rangers they would just sign try hard bums like Lindgren.

When you have one of the best players in the league, you keep them. They are hard to acquire.Ideally the Rangers get a good goalie that's not the best in the league and get some better skaters with the money they save. But knowing the Rangers they would just sign try hard bums like Lindgren.

We tried the same "cost-saving" task with Buchnevich, and we got Goodrow, Reaves, and Blais instead of an actual RW1. And he's not one of the elite players in the NHL. Paying middle of the league players on more than very short term deals is stupid and what bad teams do. All the best teams have star contracts and ELC's as the base of their team. It ends up being quantity over quality and what Lou does to sign a bunch of veterans to like 5-7M contracts. That's mediocreville for you.
So let's say we have 9M in savings and sign two LHD with those savings, what are the chances either of those players even amount to a 2nd pair defenseman? You don't like Trouba and Lindgren. Well, Trouba makes 8.5M and Lindgren makes 4.5M. They make nearly 1.5X what we'd have to spend on the savings (when you account for that you'd have to also sign a goalie).
The idea that the Rangers could take the salary of one of the best players in the league and replace it with middling players that somehow make them better is so hard to fathom. This is a team that is pretty much a middle of the league team, taking the goaltending out of that. Is 9M spread over hypothetically two players really changing that? And what are the chances we'd even be able to insure we get average goaltending when we make that change?
