Well, I forgot that they can still send the guy back down anytime, can they? Should remain waiver exempt so the call up shouldn't lower Georgiev's value as I previously thought. There's nothing wrong with giving the guy spot starts...especially with Lundqvist not feeling 100% quite often. They might need him down the road if somebody goes down or Lundqvist's condition gets worse. Don't think Georgiev could generate enough of a return to actually warrant a trade but we'll see.

I like iggy too and I’m sure that’s what they call him.

regarding the last name it’s getting so annoying. Back of his sweater says SHESTERKIN that’s how everyone should spell it and respect it. If he wanted it to say SHESTYORKIN on the back it would. His helmet says SHESTERKIN respect the players choice. Same crap when FAST changed his from FASTH we had to read that wrong for a couple years from some posters. Respect the players choice. Spell his name correctly.

i like IGGY actually and think that might be what the guys call him.

but since the "king" was a thing here, i still like PRINCE IGOR
It'll be the Czar/Tsar. There've been Princes before (who've all gone on to play elsewhere), he's pretty clearly the next one to hold the throne, and he's Russian. The momentum, especially from the press/broadcasters, will be irresistible.

Hold on— you actually think having 3 goalies on an active NHL roster is good for any one of the 3? You do realize virtually no NHL franchise has ever done this for any sustained period of time.
That is not what I am saying. Nor is that answering the question that I asked you. What is the solution here? Keep Shesterkin in the AHL and risk that he activates his out clause? He was being a good sport about it, but is way too good for that level. Put Georgiev on waivers and pray that no one picks him up? Show up hat in hand at the Lundqvist house and ask Henke to take himself and his family on a vacation for the rest of the year?

What would you have them do? This is the part when people talk about prospects forcing management's hand. This is exactly what happened. Shesterkin did exactly that. What would your solution have been? Risking him going back to Russia? That sounds reasonable? You can't just blurt out "Trade Georgiev" right now as you have no idea of what value he has. Or if there is even a deal out there. So, again, what would you have them do?

I posted this below yesterday in the Lias Andersson thread. I heard no specifics other than something was brewing, likely a trade, but I have no idea about who. Will call around after dinner here.

Funny to come upon this.

When I saw the news of Laviolette losing his job in Nashville the wheels began turning, But I admit I have no inkling of how Davidson, Gorts, Drury feel about the job Quinn is doing other than the public fluff jobs.

*edit. BBKers posted an image of a post he made earlier about January and possible management shuffling that didnt translate to the reply.
