I always had the feeling that Sheriff Bart might have also been a regular member of the old official Canes board, maybe Super Dave? Anyone know if that's the case?

I'm not a member there, but his name was David, so it's very possible that was him.



Also, when I said I didn't have anything profound to say, I wasn't thinking hard enough. I've got some words, I just had to borrow them from Sir Terry Pratchett:

No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away, until the clock wound up winds down, until the wine she made has finished its ferment, until the crop they planted is harvested. The span of someone’s life is only the core of their actual existence.

In the real world, he was a Postmaster, and obviously touched a great number of people in that role, not to mention his family and friends.

I know personally I'll think of him every time I watch a Canes game, or watch Blazing Saddles, or listen to Merry Christmas From the Family by Robert Earl Keen (who is playing in Durham next Friday, I may just have to buy a ticket).

Recently, someone mocked Wolfpuck when he peaced out of HF26, saying something like "LOL no one cares". I reacted to that by writing a number of responses (but didn't post any), some with words more aggressive toward that person than others. But the basic gist is this: I care! I care when we lose members who find a way to find humor in this endeavor that is fraught with so much disappointment. The good Sheriff was one of those. His contributions have already been itemized here, so I won't go through them again.

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy all of you who find a way to make this forum truly the best forum on this domain, and if you suddenly disappear, you will make this world a bit less enjoyable for me. I'm glad you're here.

Why did Wolfpuck leave?

Edit: well I came across his post. I guess the frustration of the team was too much. I get it but I hope he comes back because he's always ahead of the curve in the GDTs.
