I always want incompetent people to get fired. As a matter of fact, I have fired some. You never want someone to get fired, they have families to support and such. But it was time. We need a new face of the team, and someone that will elevate the performance of the team.
So, Shanny is going to survive?
Like. And I was no means a Babcock lover. My point is that the entitled spoiled whiney selfish and greedy core young players were in open rebellion to Babcock's systems and barely even followed them. To which he responded by lowering their ice times (holding them accountable). It didn't work, I get that. They had to try something else.
Their decision was to put a rookie in as coach who will essentially just do whatever the core want him to do. Worth a try I guess. The core are so talented that letting them pretty much coach the team might work out.
But we've seen that didn't work either. And we should have LONG ago figured that out (like I did years and years ago). The horribly entitled and selfish core should have been broken up long ago and a more" systems coach that stands up to star players should have been put in.
Unfortunately you can't "fire" Mitch and Tavares into the sun.I always want incompetent people to get fired. As a matter of fact, I have fired some.
This Participation Trophy mentality needs to stop.
The player were running the team not keefe
Keefe finally started laying down the hammer last year but it was to late.
The new coach needs full control to do what he want .
Every player needs to buy in .
Country club is over if you don't like it leave .
Hey BamBam is that really where you live? I'm interested in some logistics about living there.Yea it's tough to live on 100K a month
Not so easy, I believe Gary has banned him. Until he lifts the ban, no dice.Honestly if Q is remorseful then just hire him and play it as giving a guy a second chance.
Kane is a POS and no one cares that he’s playing in Edmonton.
Quenneville is the guy I want.
I'll puke in your boot too.I will puke in my boot if I hear those words
Well coaches get better than nmc’s, they can’t be moved anyway and get paid full pay for the duration of their contract no matter what.I am shocked.
I don't even think Keefe is like 30% to blame. Unfortunately for him coaches are the easiest changes since they don't get those pesky NMC's that are handed out like candy here.
Oh well, bring on the new candidates.
He got to the beach quickly or is that Lake Erie (on his way to Pit) lol.
He seems like a decent dude. However, his liking tweets criticizing Babcock a few weeks before he got the job always put me off liking him too much, and, of course, the playoff performances
But, GL to him wherever is next.
Leafs need to start throwing their weight around. We want him. Make it happen Gary. Not so easy, I believe Gary has banned him. Until he lifts the ban, no dice.
Rosehill gets it
You're not wrong. But others will never see that because of revisionist Millennial Babcock Hate™. I can say this as I was never a Babcock disciple.Babcock would bench them. That's why their ice times were so much lower under Babcock than Keefe. Even in the playoffs he'd bench them if they wouldn't play the way he thought would lead to success in the playoffs. Leaf fans all complained about the ice time and threw tantrums. EVeryone here was screaming "PLAY THE STARS!!!!!!" Go look back at how furious leaf fans were about the ice time Babcock was giving the core players. The entitled and selfish core players were clearly frustrated about it. But I guarantee Babcock was 100% certain that they'd have to buy into these systems or they'd never succeed in the playoffs. He was right.
So the Leafs put in a coach who gave the fans and the players precisely what they wanted. And look how well that went...
The reason Babcock didn't succeed was because he couldn't get the players to buy in. That's on him to a degree I suppose. Keefe wasn't able to succeed because he catered to the wants and needs of hte core players and refused to hold them accountable. Hence the (lol) "apologies" after he calls them out.
Dubas said so...What are you talking about?
First of all, the Leafs finished a full 13 points ahead of the Bolts, but on top of that, Hedman played the series with his hip all screwed up, Erik Cernak missed most of the series with a conclusion, Brayden Point was playing with broken ribs and Jeannot had a high ankle sprain.
The Lightning were prime for the plucking and the Leafs did the job. How did you arrive at the conclusion that the Leafs shouldn't have won that series?
I’ll never let go Keefe!C'mon Kyle, now you can bring your boy home.
Woodcroft would just be another KeefeWhy Woodcroft? He took an Oilers team nowhere, he just got a couple very favorable playoff matchups. They're almost as top heavy, with equally bad defence and goaltending.
