I love Weber, but man .. does every Dman with 500 + pts have a chance of getting in now? I haven't really looked but are Hamrlik and Matheiu Schneider in yet? Gonchar or Gary Suter?

Shea Weber has 5 Top-5 Norris placements. The only other eligible with that many placements who's not in the HHOF is JC Tremblay, who is in all likelihood kept out due to politics.

Big part of that run to Finals. His highlight was beating Toronto. Called team meeting before Game 5. Turned series around. When they thought it would be cakewalk over us.

Speaks to his quality as a player. That he was basically not-playable from an injury standpoint but our best defenceman and even making Chiarot look good.

I remember Weber played 33 minutes against the Leafs in Game 6. Kotkaniemi scored in overtime. Weber was our best player that night.
Nobody gave us a chance that series. Biggest comeback and playoff upset in Habs history
Not one person on this board predicted us to win.

I dunno about you but my experience with the Habs in general during the Shea Weber Era/Aura was probably the lowest and most bitter phase of my fandom career. Not Shea Weber’s fault, but it is a thing.
I get it, but at the same time that's what I love about him. Utter warrior in a desolate era. Now that he's scored 6 goals it's not as crazy to say, but I've wanted Gallagher to end his career with us for the same reason.
The new Habs core could use the aura of Weber, if his feet didn't fail him, he'd be our best RHD if he was still playing with us.
The one I want to see in the hall of fame is Andrei Markov. One of the most underrated defenseman of all time... One of the best dman in his era. So smart with the puck, solid defensively and one of the best playmaker on the powerplay. He should be next in line to have his jersey retired as a Hab. It won't happen though for political reasons. Weber was just ok during his journey with Montreal imo.

Yep. I hated that trade - still hate it. But Weber was great in the crease and had a killer shot. He’s a legit HOFer for sure.
