Just heard on the team 1200 that Shawn Simpson passed away yesterday.

Apologies to the Sens mods as I looked and didn't see a thread that would work for this.

A little tough listening to it on the radio right now as the guys are breaking down a bit over.

What in the f*** news to wake up to. I didn't agree with a lot of his takes but he was easily the most entertaining and engaging hockey media personality in a city full of milk toast media that were boring to listen to or watch.

He was the last good thing about TSN1200, and that station wasn't the same since he left.

I was worried when he suddenly left the CIH podcast. I suppose he wasnt in good health then.

I’m despondent. He was a teammate and friend back in my lacrosse days and we never reconnected other than hearing him on his shows. Prayers to his kids and new family and all that knew him.

RIP Simmer. Met him once, such a ball of energy and positive guy. He was a good addition to Coming In Hot with Brent Wallace and Jason York. He will be missed, in the Ottawa hockey community.

I was wondering that as well. All of a sudden he wasn't on the show. And I was wondering if they ever addressed why Bobby Ryan left Coming in Hot as well.

Very sad and shocking news to hear he has died. Simmer had a great sense of humour and had some real honest takes about the Sens.
