Wow...no. The only way the Blues trade Shattenkirk during the season is if they can get someone very exceptional for him...like a star player. Kadri is not that.

Yeah Shatty is an upcoming UFA but his current contract is underpaid as hell...so that's the trade-off.

I like Kadri's drawing penalty stats, but after that 'meh'. We would have then Stastny 2c and Lehterä 3c, Kadri 3c and Berglund 3c.

Blues need is proven 1c or unproven potential center/(winger) prospect. I doubt Leafs wanna even talk about it so Blues - Leafs not good trading partners.

Kadri can handle 2C responsibilities, definitely not #1C responsibilities, so it doesn't solve St.Louis's needs.

Shattenkirk is exactly what this teams needs.

But I'm not giving away kadri unless he's signed.

Yeah because he doesn't want to play in Canada period, Most of the insiders have said that he wants to go home and play for the Rangers or somewhere on the Northeast coast maybe Boston or New Jersey.

It's just like insiders saying Stamkos was going to sign in Toronto, there are zero indications that he is only going to sign in the Northeast. Only team that is for sure that he won't sign with in Canada is EDM.

If there were two non-East Coast teams that could change his mind it would probably be Toronto/Babcock or Detroit. Still might be an uphill battle.

No insider ever said that Stamkos would only go to Toronto that's not true. Most insiders had Stamkos either with Detroit or Buffalo yet his agent never approached Holland or Murray. And it's known that Shatty is a diehard Rangers fan and Larry Brooks who's the insider for the Rangers even mentioned that the Rangers would be his first choice. I could see Shatty playing in Detroit long before i could see him in Toronto.

So a Rangers insider stated that a highly sought after UFA to be has the Rangers as his first choice? Sounds like solid non-bias information.

45-55 is closer to his actual scoring pace - let's not undersell him either
lol. when has he ever done that? PPG doesn't count in the standings. Thats why RNH is a 50 point centre in my opinion because its what can be expected of him

Because with pace you'll get a much more accurate view of a players scoring ability? Particularly over a multi season sample size....

Even if you only want to use totals as a regular NHLer Kadri has played 4 seasons two of which were below 45 total points and in one of those he put up 44 points in 48 games.

Calling him a 40 point player is just a lazy way to make him seem like he holds less value
