What happens to Evander Kane?

I expect jail will happen sometime in the future. ... eventually.
This guy is a walking talking screw up. When the big money dries up he's gonna do something stupid.
The doing something stupid ship left port a long time ago

Athansiou + Maata + conditional 2nd (based on goals Kane scores, if he does not reach it becomes Pittsburgh's 3rd) for Kane ($1M retained to balance out salaries)
i thought there were conditions on that 3rd coming to us on carter number of games. With the covid run on that team i wouldnt say its a sure thing

The guy is making a lot of money and is a really good player. I think they'll likely have some internal discussions about what's been going on but in the end I would be very surprised if he wasn't in the lineup when eligible.

Maybe if the players have really soured on him but I have a hard time believing that they'd just tell him to sit and send him his cheque.

The Rangers did it with DeAngelo. If they were going to terminate his contract, citing breach, I have to imagine they would have done so already. With 3 years left after this, I don't see another team trading for him, regardless of retention.

My guess is that he will sit the rest of the year, as I can't imagine they want him in that locker room. And then they'll buy him out in the summer.

Has he been skating and staying in shape during his time off?
Will he be play ready or need a conditioning stint?

The 3rd in the 22 draft could have been a 2nd had the pens won the cup last year. Next year's pick is conditional on the number of games this year

If I'm Toronto, and I'm trying to win the Cup, I don't care about the off-ice nonsense, I want what Kane can do for the team on the ice...

To Toronto: Kane (50% retained), Reimer

To San Jose: 2022 1st, Ritchie, Mrazek

Leafs get a 1st line goal-scoring LW at half his cap hit, plus a cheaper backup in Reimer

Sharks rid themselves of Kane, and save face a little by getting a 1st rd pick

is a late first really worth the years of retention for the sharks?

All these people saying Sharks would pay to get rid of him are refusing to answer WHY the Sharks would pay. Instead of giving up a 1st or multiple high picks as y’all say, why wouldn’t they keep the cap hit, have him stay home, and keep the picks?

A Bob for E Kane swap would look sexy for Florida

it’s just weird that he hasn’t been practicing with the team and then the coaches comments. I really hope he plays as I have him in my dynasty league. He’d help out any team.

Why would we trade Reimer when he's performing and has another year? Why wouldn't Mrazek have San Jose on his ten team no trade list? Would Reimer have Toronto on his five team no trade list given his stint in Toronto? Why would the Sharks want to add cap on top of retaining when that 1st is probably late and Ritchie is useless? That doesn't get into the reality that no team has retained this much with this much term and it's a huge jump to do so. Sharks aren't doing all that to get rid of Kane just for a 1st in the 20s.
