Anybody have fancy stats on the Karlsson - Hertl - Meier line? They seemed to be dominating possession the entire game

Thornton was still the best 5v5 possession player on the ice for either team with one knee in 9 mins, 14-4

Hertl with 60% corsi 15-10 in 12 mins
Meier with 59% 13-9 in 11:30
Both started only 20% of their shifts in the offensive zone

No shock Draisaitl the big baby had the worst corsi for any player on the ice. I would have been frustrated too. 6 Corsi for and 16 against ahahaha

You can tell score effects kicked in and helped the Oilers' numbers a lot because their CF once Talbot was pulled was decent. When he was on the ice they gave up 39 Corsi and had only 24. Obviously after that point the Sharks took their foot off the pedal and the game was already 100% finished with.

So the eye test was pretty much right, that line dominated possession for most of the game.

Also, Jumbo is an animal. Does him sitting out and being the official door operator for most of the third period factor into that at all?

Yes, Edmonton dominated 5v5 Corsi after Talbot gave up the 5th goal of the game and was pulled

How is it even a thing that Chris Tierney is called a diver for falling due to the spear? He has no history, that I know of, of that. Has laid it out this series and taken tons of pucks to the legs/skates. He has been really tough why is it so hard to believe that it actually hurt...

Seemed like he had a bit of a diving history in London but I haven't really seen much of it since he's been with the team.

It's almost like none of these people calling him a diver have ever taken a shot to the balls.

He does dive but that was a clear spear. People also seem to think Couture dove too when McDavid skated into his face. It's just desperate attempts to justify the fact that their team got dominated by a team with it's top 2 centers hurt.

Yeah, I'd hit the deck too if I took a spear in the junk. Drai deserved the penalty and to be sent off for the game. I think these plays are complete garbage, have no place in the game and should be suspendable 100% of the time but unfortunately the NHL thinks different.

McDavid didn't initiate contact, was looking the other way and most importantly made absolutely no contact with his head. Couture deserves props for playing through that injury, it's no joke but the head snap is a bit much here, no?

He's been hit high more than once and has a facial injury that people thought he would miss the playoffs with. I really don't even get how this is a discussion.
