I'm sure they have some left. It was a make up for the less in the first few games. BIg game to win, if they beat EDM next time it's a death grip

I definitely think the Sharks are the better team of the two. Edmonton is gonna be good pretty soon, but I think next year should be the year where they really have sort of a playoff breakthrough. This year is more of a just getting to the dance for them.

I did pick the Oilers in 6 before this series started, but that was mostly because of how bad the Sharks had been down the stretch, mostly due to poor special teams and or some less than stellar goaltending. Tonight was the first time in a while that all 3 of the power play, penalty kill and goaltending were all firing at once. They've all fired at different times in that span, but never at the same time. Well the power play really didn't haha.

thornton is not 100% in terms of being able to get into physical plays, but he can move incredibly well considering.

Yeah getting 3 to work in harmony in tight/crucial times is always tough sometimes. Special teams can kill a team's game but glad it was different here. They played with some mojo and the right amount of shoulder chips ?

Sometimes a couple minutes in a game or a certain path of events is all it takes. I bet they carry this over. Didn't sit back at the crucial points tonight

If we're gonna win this series, may as well win it in 6.

I don't enough confidence in Calgary to avoid the sweep tomorrow night. Anaheim is gonna be rested.

Too early to look ahead to game 6, but need to get through this as fast and quick as possible, because Anaheim certainly looks like they're doing that.

Would be nice for Calgary to force 6 games, but that would involve them actually winning one in Anaheim.

Definitely need to come out and take care of business in Edmonton on Thursday. That would be huge to come back home with a chance to clinch on Saturday!

Couture on TV postgame (Three Stars) interview:

- it was a great start, we've been wanting to get a lead, we haven't had one in this series yet, so big goal by Pavs there, power play came on huge for us tonight
- can't really sense things coming to the rink, felt good this morning, felt good about our game, we wanted to get our power play going, it definitely helped
- didn't feel very good, I went back, dentists and doctors did some work, was able to come back right away, and felt better after scoring the goal

Pavelski on radio postgame interview:

- [how was this game different?] Jerry Rice was in the house for the touchdown (they chuckle), I don't know, other games have been tight, the power play really created some momentum for us, scoring early, the crowd was great, one of those games where it's borderline must-win, and guys responded well, we gotta just stick with it now, they'll regroup, they'll be a little better, and we gotta match our intensity
- [on the PP] it's one of those things, we didn't rush a shot, we moved it quick, guys were ready to make that next play, both units were knocking on the door with chances and scoring, it's a good recipe to have, it's such a fine line, when they're comin' hard, you gotta relieve pressure, you gotta win a battles, you gotta do those little things, then you gotta finish it off at the end, and guys did a good job tonight
- [on line changes / puck possession] sometimes you just need that little bit of regroup or whatever, end of the day, whoever's with whoever, you gotta get the job done, we come out, we get a goal early, really allows the crowd to get into it, you could tell they were held up the other night, they wanted something to cheer about, we didn't give them a goal, tonight we did that early and we were able to feed off that and build off it, each line was committed, guys did a good job tonight
- we'll enjoy it tonight, we'll look at it tomorrow, we'll jump on the plane, you're always looking at that next game, you're always trying to figure a way how to keep the momentum as long as you can and guys did a good job tonight, this last period we had was just a good solid period, didn't look to do anything too special, and we need to just take it right into the next game

Awesome show up tonight. Couldn't be any happier. Hopefully this is a sign of the sharks we're used to seeing.

Pavs looked more like himself, cooter, jumbo and holy hell even marleau looked way better. Shout out to that 3rd/4th line. Meier and hertl actually looked real dangerous at times. Potential future threat?

Great puck control, defense on point and finally had a new power play look. I hope we didnt give that oiler D too much to see in regards to this newfound PP lol. Solid game by jones, too.

Keep it up. Itll be interesting to see how TMAC and the oiilers respond. Based on our experience with TMAC, it aint lookin good for them. If we can score even just two the next couple of games, i think we win those games, assuming our D looks like it did tonight.

Good win tonight from the boys in teal. Finally can go to work happy tomorrow :yo:

Well that was fun. Every game is different, but hopefully we can build upon this one.

Thornton is about 50% skating-wise. It's a good thing most of his game is his smarts. I think he's been effective despite obviously not being able to skate.

Ill say this. Tmacs decision to put mcdavid with plugs is saving oyr *****.

We lock up the neutral and the kid is a ghost. 40% cf.

Wait for it, the local grumbler will get here eventually....

Sharks have pretty much shut down McDavid and Draisaitl when they were together. That forced the split and now both are playing with random plugs which compounded the issue. Keep on Trucking boyss

Let's hope the DOPS makes the right call and McLellan won't have the chance to put them back together in game 5.

Really proud of the job the team has done on McDavid.

Guys, this is my friend T.

I'm bringing him in from the Rangers board.

You know, kinda like Hayes and Vesey except we won't make you physically sick.
