As a sharks fan, I honestly expected an easy game, but that was based solely on the Jets place in the standings. I hadn't been following their streak or their coaching change. Jeez - it was like playing the Kings or the Ducks.

 But in all seriousness, we're a much different team under Maurice. We're coming for you guys!

Next year ;)

Pretty much what we've been saying for ages. If you play a hard, tough game and end up losing, that's okay. If Pavelski's hand-eye sucked a bit more we'd be in OT haha.

Firmly believe this will not result in 4 more losses. Better overall team at home had the better game.

I love the game we play now. So entertaining.

Good Effort, decent defence. Can't win 'em all. Now to beat the Leafs!

I feel better about this game than the Anaheim one.

Agree with all these sentiments - this was a loss, but I'm no where NEAR being angry, which I was in some of our stinkers earlier in the year.

I fully expect the Jets to get back on the horse, and start racking up the wins again. Would love nothing more than seeing the Jets beat the Leafs in the upcoming game. :yo:

It'll probably take a dozen or so more games, but this team looks like it has the legs to at least compete for a playoff spot (not this year of course). I believed then, and believe now, that we have more talent than our record has shown.

Buff and Joki weren't great either, but Gooch is really dragging that line down. His decision-making has been atrocious.

True. That is a $12 million dollar 3rd line, which might be the worst use of money in the league.

Seto turns it over at both blue lines a couple times every game. I'd like to see him on the 4th line and move Odell to the 3LW spot.

8pts out of 10 available in the last 5 games. Never mind 6pts in 5, 8pts in 5 would allow us to climb back into a playoff spot.

Most likely unsustainable, but: go Jets 2.1, go!

And yeah, I'm starting to think that it's best if Buff is traded before the deadline. At D, he's a weapon. He's one of the best offensive D-men in the league. And we don't need him that much as an offensive RHD. I like him, but Trouba has made him expendable.

Either trade him or put him back on the D. Him being a winger on the Jokinen line is a total waste. It's like if you have a Mercedes but you are using the Mercedes to plough the fields at your farm and ruining the value of Mercedes while at the same time not ploughing your field properly. Either go back to using the Mercedes the way it's supposed to or sell it and buy a set of tools more suitable to ploughing the field. This madness has to stop :shakehead

Seto is a literal clown show out there.

I'm not a Tangradi fan, but putting him in for ****o makes sense

Jokinen has slowly rounded into 2012-2013 form, not a compliment

Buff's talent being wasted on the third line with no one to play with

Thought Maurice waited too long before putting Buff on D, should have been taking some of Stu's shifts

Great game. Buff needs to be back on D.
In my fantasy world, Holmgren takes setoguchi for Simmonds.

Games like this make it so painfully clear what is wrong with this team (Pavelec notwithstanding). There's no depth, especially at forward. Teams like SJ and ANA have their way when they get to match at home vs. the bottom 6 and bottom pair. I thought LLF and KSW did a great job this game, but they can't overcome the dearth of talent below them.

Guys like Kosmo, Lowry, Lipon, etc. can't arrive soon enough.

Didn't you guys hear Maurice's pre game scrum?

This is just phase 1. Imagine what phase 2 will look like. Or even...

Phase 3.

One thing I did hear Maurice say before the game: we are grooming Bogosian to be a top defender. I like how upfront and confidently he says that, it will give Zachy Goj tons of confidence, unlike Noel being so damn wishy-washy all the time. And Bogo definitely has the build and the wheels to be that top guy.

And he doesn't really fit as a forward on our team. He doesn't get the puck in transition as a forward, and we don't control the puck enough in the opposing end to make use of his best assets as a forward. And he plays D on the PP (when he'd be most valuable as a forward), so really using him as a forward doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless we are that concerned about playing him on D.

Personally, I'd put him back on D but keep him around 20 minutes.

The biggest eye opener for me is watching Boston over the last few years. They've moved Kessel, Wheeler, Seguin, Horton, Ryder and Ferrence. Lost Marc Savard to injury. Tim Thomas "retired".

They haven't missed a friggin beat. It's really quite amazing.

Problem is, if we put him on D, he plays on the right side. And I don't want to cut down on Bogosian's or Trouba's minutes. I want Trouba to play as many minutes as he can handle, and Bogosian is best when he plays a ton of minutes.

It's a bad situation, cause I damn sure don't want to lose Buff for bad value, since I actually believe that he is a top D-man in the league.
