Spent a good 30 minutes with Doug Wilson today. More coming this afternoon. #SJSharks

Oh boy.

Also,

#SJSharks now letting it be known that Clowe is playing through an injury that keeps him from playing at 100 percent.

For god's sake, just shut him down.

Guys that didn't skate today: 8, 12, 19, 22, 26, 39 and 61.

Braun? Also, Demers isn't on either list.

I don't know, but if you're right, interesting that Clowe wasn't included.

That's a really odd list. All of our best players and then Handzus and Braun.

Hand injury perhaps? His skating hasn't been good, but it's been that way all year. If it was lower body, I presume they wouldn't want him skating at practice.

Now that I think about it, maybe they want to see if they are open to waiving their NMCs? Would explain Handzus. And maybe they want some young core guys in there so they know what's going on with the team. Clowe is a UFA, so he wasn't included because he's not part of the future plans anyways.

Why would you use Clowe in the SO if he is being bothered by an injury?????

Perhaps the injury affects his skating and strength, but not his shot.

I get the feeling that they're just trying to mix it up in the shootout to find someone other than Handzus who can actually score.

I would think the management would want to talk about waiving NMC/NTC's in person instead of doing it as a group.

It is pretty interesting though.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't ask about that in a group setting. That seems more of a one on one deal. What if the Thornton group is doing like a secret vote to get rid of Tmac?

Agreed. That's not something you talk about with a group at large.

"Hey guys, who here wants to waive their NMC to go to the Islanders? Remember, if you don't raise your hand here, your teammates will think you're a selfish *******!"

It was probably a meeting to let Zus and Braun know that they'd have to appear on the next episode of Sharks Byte because the big dogs can't stand Drew and BB anymore.

6.9M a year is a lot for just a scoring left wing. I think Marleau is part of the problem, especially culture wise. If you're going to get rid of JT, you need to get rid of Marleau as well.

Keep Joe and get rid of heartless.

Throw Marleau in as well. Ive been watching his game closely this season, and its awful.

Finally people are starting to make sense here rather than just go through the motions. People obviously are scared of change. Rather than admit this team has failed time and time again lets settle on mediocrity rather than trade while we can and start a fresh new look this team needs. Time to change the guard...

Honestly I don't think Marleau is really part of the problem, culture wise. He's passive as hell yah, but he's just a scoring left wing at this point. Marleau goes the way the team goes, if the culture is changed Marleau will just go with the flow, just the way he is. Scoring left wingers are tough to come by too and if anyone is kept through a scorched earth situation it should probably be Marleau (besides the obvious with Couture, Burns, etc).

This is part of the problem, people thinking like this.

Marleau doesn't play with intensity and disappears for games at a time. I'd trade him first. Keep Thornton, at least he shows emotion. If you trade Thornton or Boyle you have to clean house.
