Pronouncing "Tatar" really vexes me. I am vexed.

It should sound like "tater," as in "tater tot."

How do you figure? I've always heard it pronounced "TAH-tar" and I'm fairly certain if you look in the NHL media guide it's listed that way too.


meanwhile, the Wings broadcast seems bound and determined to say the word "shootout" as many times as they can in the time between the end of OT and the start of the, well, shootout.

Seriously, I counted at least 10 uses of the word in the space of about 90-120 seconds.
