He clearly is. He threw money at Jones, Vlasic, and Couture as soon as he could, and Kane not long after. That should tell you what he thinks of Pavelski right now.

The problem is that we’re kinda in a bad spot with Pavs. We can’t give him term to drive down the AAV because he’s over 35, but we also can’t give him a high AAV for short term because we won’t have the cap space to improve this team if we do. And we can’t let him go because he’s our best goal scorer. Tough situation.

He might take a bit of a discount to stay as I think this system fits his style better than counter striking team which most teams are trying to be these days. That said 25-35 goal scorers don't come cheap.

Yeah no doubt, I’m totally cool with resigning Pavs it just needs to be a smart contract. Two years, 5-6 mil seems about right, if Pavs wants more, I love the guy, but we can’t take that risk.
