He's a player the Oilers desperately need, a solid leader, and still a pretty great player, if I was them I'd be throwing a lot of money his way in the off-season

He clearly is. He threw money at Jones, Vlasic, and Couture as soon as he could, and Kane not long after. That should tell you what he thinks of Pavelski right now.

He might take a bit of a discount to stay as I think this system fits his style better than counter striking team which most teams are trying to be these days. That said 25-35 goal scorers don't come cheap.
