I would like to add one thing to this post, Korostelyov is doing nice in MHL! So that's awesome to see from our 7th round goalie, there is always a lottery ticket in goalies. It's far fetched but there is always a chance.

I`m sorry, but I have to disappoint you a bit. He's just a backup in SKA-1946.
His stats are okay - 2,58 GAA and 90,7% in 7 games, but starter Rogatko has 1,90 GAA and 93,5% in 13 games. Moreover, Rogatko is 1 year younger than Yaroslav.

Damn, I got caught in only stats. And I learned that it's the junior league of Russia.. so can't expect the next Sorokin/Varlamov tandem out of him and Askarov haha. But I will be following how he progresses over the years, even if only through Elite Prospects page.

Not to say he won't be fine long term, but this is exactly why I'm glad we got 1st overall and didn't have to worry about this pick. He was supposedly fine going into the draft and yet here we are getting surgery. Back issues are no joke

Edit: I say this as someone who is not a pro athlete but had a herniated disc that healed then reherniated and has been a nagging injury to varying degrees for the last 10+ years. Doctors have always said to not get surgery if I can manage it on my own because the outcomes are pretty hit or miss. I was terrified to draft this kid from my own personal experience...couldn't imagine trying to play hockey with my injury considering I can be out for a week for simply bending over wrong

I think it's likely he makes next year's (between graduations and players taking off, plus the incomers), but no, he didn't really merit it this summer.

Svoboda is interesting as a potential 4C. Technically that's still a development path.

I think we only have three actually interesting NCAA prospects this season. Pohlkamp is obviously the main one. Lund is - someone interesting long-shot to boom. And Svoboda as a 4C down the road.

Still is fun.... Gotta give Cags the slight nod as of now as the #2 AHL leading D scorer at age 19. that's legit playing against men. That said, Pohlcamp T1st in D scoring and T-1st in +/- on the best team in the nation is an intriguing argument too.

I think the size and strength of Pohlcamp gives him the very slight edge to me in the longer term. Cags has great skating, great creativity, terrific instincts. But, it's just gunna be really hard at 5'9" 185 to control the front of the net against 6'3", 220 NHL power forwards. Pohlcamp is built much better for that at 5'11" but over 200 lbs.

As such, I think Id rank cags higher, but Pohlcamp may have the better NHL chance longer term. I'm excited to continue watching each one mature and develop.

I only wish BDE wasn't mired in London. Watching him destroy the OHL is fun, but it is so obvious that he belongs in a harder league: NCAA at least, but the Finnish League, SHL or AHL even better. Oh well, he'll have fun beating up on the little kids for a while. Horrible that he might have to do it yet again next year too. We really should look for a Euro team for him to play on for a year next year if he doesnt make the NHL out of camp. Going back to the O again is just ridiculous.

I feel like laubach is a bit of a sleeper. Doing pretty well as a true sophomore even as a late birthday. But probably destined to be the next john mccarthy

I’ll be honest I don’t think he does make it. Only for sure graduates for now are Smith and Celebrini but I imagine Shakir and Askarov graduate. I assume sharks first and second fill two of those spots. Between all the guys we have as rentals I could see us picking up at least a couple more 1st-3rd round picks which I’d imagine would all be over Svoboda.

Tough game for Dickinson today, but almost everyone on London was bad and I would bet money that Dickinson played 40+ minutes. He was just exhausted and not executing. London literally only trusts Dickinson and Bonk, to the extent that those are the only two defensemen who played in OT at all.

Halttunen was actually quite good. A little too eager to score his first OHL goal of the season, but he's definitely starting to branch out his offensive toolkit with more playmaking and more of a power game. His goal saved Cowan's point streak from being held up by a totally bogus phantom secondary assist on their only other goal before it. Almost ended it twice in OT.

It's amazing that London can play an overall terrible game and then score two goals with the empty net to tie it. They just have so much NHL quality talent, it's kinda unfair.

Am I reading that right? You're saying Dickinson has played 40+ tonight? How valuable! I say call him up, he could eat 20 extra minutes that would otherwise go to Mario (on top of his own minutes of course!)

I can't prove it because the CHL is lame and doesn't track ice time data, but yeah. I know you're playin' but I genuinely think he only left the ice for thirty seconds at a time, and played some long, long shifts.
