I watched the game, and frankly, possible his defense was better than his offense that game. (Although, he was around the net for one of the goals against, I didn't get a good look at if he made a mistake or not.)
I think the best way to describe the game was, he looked like an uncle playing with the kids, who wanted the kids to have fun, but cared a bit too much about winning.
For most of the game, he was positioned extremely conservatively in the offensive zone, and was just supporting the play letting his teammates play around, until he saw the occasional chance to style on everyone, and do something flashy, almost as if for fun to show off, but he was choosing his spots very well.
Then, in the defensive zone, he just looked like he was refusing to let the other team do anything. He was immediately on the puck every time they got in the offensive zone, separating the man from puck, and getting it out of the zone or controlling it safely to teammates if possible. He really just looked like an adult against kids, trying to maximize his kids offensive zone time.
