Sharks News/Notes XVII

By not "retiring", he gets the balance of his contract.

If he retired, he'd walk away from the $16m he's owed for the next two seasons. (Will help Sharks get to floor.)

He can be put on LTIR. (It's also possible to "trade" his contract.)

(When his contract expires, the Sharks will be looking to sign Smith and Celebrini to their second contracts.)

Things moving slowly with July 1 expiration date of current lease. "Cities move slowly". More than $100m in deferred maintenance on arena, that the Sharks are seeking some funding from San Jose city to cover. San Jose facing $47m deficit.

This is chaotic as hell and I love it. Great that it seems like there’s positive energy from all 3 of them and nice to hear about all the outings they do with the team. Sounds like Dellandrea has been great with them too so I’d love to keep him around.

Agreed on Delly. Someone’s got to be the 13/14th forward and he can play C. The north stars chirp was spectacular.
