Bit strange after Keefe said he was day to day but welcome back
Samsonov is returning at a good time. We need to use load management with Murray and he's played a lot recently.
If Samsonov can puck up where he left off, we should be fine.
Dell played for the Leafs?Sharks playing tonight. Reimer is hurt. Could get ex Leafs great Aaron Dell in goal!
Dell played for the Leafs?
MESA VERDE!!!! MESA VERDE!!!!! MESA VERDE!!!!!!So happy Samsonov is back!
Does he need to go through Waivers?Looks like Kallgren is going back to the marlies. Hopefully he uses what he’s learned here to dominate AHL
Good question.Does he need to go through Waivers?
Not yet (35 games played away)Does he need to go through Waivers?
It's Timmins and he's apparently not playing. This is traditionally a game where we fail to get up for. I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen again tonight. The first game after a long road trip is always a tough one for guys to get up for as well. My hope is that with the lineup adjustments + Mitch going for 18 straight that it puts enough money on the board to make this game feel like more then your standard mid-season game against a bottom feeder.
I really like the injection of Robertson, Timmons, and Sammy for this reason alone. It doesn't take much for guys to get into a game. Having Timmons playing his first game as a Leaf, Sammy returning to the cage, and Robertson looking to make an impact it should be enough to drag the guys into the fight. If not, Mitch going for 18 straight should.
Usually the team that is on the second half of the B2B tend to come out strong and fade late. We will just have to match that intensity early on and we should be good to go. We are the better squad, we just can't take SJ lightly.

I mean they haven't lost with this defense in a while now. Imagine that is the reason more then anything about having no plans to use him.Timmins not playing is a travesty IMHO. Why bother trading for him if you have no plans to use him?
And don't give me the 'learning systems' excuse. As a new D player to the team, you should be told, and able to execute simple D techniques. All it takes is good gap control, careful on the pinches, standard 2 on 1 positioning, head on a swivel, box out in front of the net etc.
From what I understand, he has played for Keefe before. He has also been partnered with Sandin, so no excuses for not inserting him into the lineup. Well, unless he was acquired with an existing injury.
This is what I would have expected from Babcock, given that Timmins was a Dubas acquisition.
JMHO.
