Boychuk just tweeted that he's headed back to Charlotte.

Was he up on an emergency basis? Or is he going through waivers?

Since he passed through waivers already, he doesn't need to go through waivers again unless he's played a certain number of games at the NHL level (10 I think) or been up for a certain number of days (30 I think).

The rule is 10 games or 30 days. Here's what the CBA says.

Waiver Expiration. The rights granted under this Article to Loan a Player(s) who is otherwise required to clear Regular Waivers to a minor league club expire for any Player(s) who, after clearing Regular Waivers:

(i) is not Loaned to a minor league club, or is Recalled from a minor league
club (except on emergency Recall) and remains on an NHL roster for thirty (30) days (cumulative) or plays ten (10) NHL Games (cumulative),

Since he already cleared waivers earlier this year, he would have to play 10 games or be on a roster for 30 days before having to go through waivers again.

Bitter Sharks fan in parking lot: "Whatever, see you guys in the playoffs."

Me: "Yeah right, that would mean the Sharks would have to make the Finals."

Honestly, in his limited time, I thought Boychuk faired well tonight. He showed some speed and confidence, got the puck deep when needed, was defensively responsible, looked better in the corners as well and ended up with an assist as well.

In past callups, to me he's looked tentative. Whether that was being afraid to make a mistake, afraid to get hit, lack of hockey sense or nerves...who knows, but he was always tentative. I saw none of that tonight.

Hopefully he'll get a few more looks this season.

Thank God they stopped putting Westgarth on the ice as the game went on. He is just brutal, no other way to say it.

Yep, I thought he was stronger on his skates too and looked a bit more like what Muller wants in a player. Maybe similar to Bowman. He still only got a handful of minutes though. Have to think Dwyer will play Monday. He seemed almost ready to go tonight.

The third period was incredible. One of the more exciting periods I've watched in quite some time.

I purchased tickets for the North end, given how our second periods have been lately. Couldn't see any of our third period goals that well, but...:handclap:
