The question in the thread was “who is the better looking player”.

Don't know Knies' game enough to form an opinion, therefore no vote at all.
But I don't think they are similar/comparable?

Pinto will be clinically underrated here. He might not stack up as many points, but plays on one of the best shutdown lines this season. Basically skating in each situation and against top players, makes close to no mistakes at all.

Let's compare some superficial stats for fun.

Player A
American, 25 years old, 6'4" 225 LB
71 GP 29 G 26 A 55 PTS

Player B
American, 22 years old, 6'3" 227 LB
77 GP 29 G 27 A 56 PTS

For reference, neither player is Shane Pinto. But one is Matthew Knies and the other is Brady Tkachuk.

Clearly Knies is better than Tkachuk.

Who’s the bette player? I won’t say. Who would be more valuable to the Sens? Shane Pinto.

Knies isn’t putting up those numbers playing with the Sens. Pinto defends against top lines. I don’t think that’s controversial to say.

To be fair, Knies has the luxury of playing on a line with two of the most competitive and driven players in NHL history.

This is one of those cases where the massive gulf between the players very clearly overwhelms the "positional value" of a Center over a Winger.

I’m sure Knies is out there against top lines pretty often as well

What a weird poll. Two players nothing alike with completely different roles.

Two of my faves. If I had to add one to my team moving forward, it would be Pinto. But in terms of just upside and offensive impact, I think Knies has a higher gear, with or without the star linemates. There are times this year he’s just been a force.

What kind of poll is this? I'd take Pinto if I wanted to place a bet, but otherwise it's Matthew Knies all day every day.
