I'm sure you were excited with Caufield and Suzuki. Those goals/plays counted for you, the ones by the sens didn't. Amirite.
Well, the sens are a much better team than the Habs if we go with the narrative you just set... Pintos a legend, Stutzle is HOF bound, Sanderson is the best prospect in hockey, Cat is gonna score even more than with Kane because everybody knows Stutzle > Kane, Norris is better than Suzuki, Greig is a top 5 in a redraft, ... what else did I forget?

No, that's pretty accurate.

He has the skill set of a good tweener (2nd/3rd liner) with flashes of top six skill accompanied by active defensive stickwork, puck thievery and a surprising motor.

I find him very noticeable on the ice playing a canny and cerebral game.

Hopefully he'll prove it in over an extended period this time around - he's had some rotten luck.

I disagree. He'll more than a tweener. To me a tweener is someone who has an unbalanced skillset and has very good to borderline elite skills in certain categories, but average to below average in others. For example, Connor Brown has outstanding speed, motor, defensive IQ, and can control the puck reasonably well. But his shot is below average and his offensive IQ and playmaking is just average.

I just don't see Pinto as a tweener. I think people are pidgeon-holeing him into that role because the Sens already have two centers above him on the depth chart, and he's really good defensively. It's just too convenient to slot him into that 3C role, but call him a "tweener" because he's better than your average 3C. But watching him play, his shot is extremely good, his hockey sense is almost off the charts, he can distribute the puck very well. There's no doubt in my mind he's top 6 potential, bordering on 1C potential.

Pinto is a classic late bloomer. IIRC, he didn't start playing competitive hockey until he was 15. He still has lots of room to grow.

No I'm going on watching him play right now. You should try it. Neither of those players have played yet. Just a terrible attempt at a comparison. You seem very confused.

Dave Poulin must be an absolute idiot as well. Making such 'ridiculous' comparisons.
Revisiting this thread, I gotta admit Pinto has impressed me since we had this conversation. Let's see if he can continue it into the regular season.

He’s a very rare/special talent. Mark Stone was in that mold too. It’s the hockey IQ and vision/anticipation that sets him apart

Now get ready for Ridly Greig. I have been going about him for 18 months now

Yeah, I know all about Greig.

He's got NHL 2nd liner that does it all written all over him. Sens have drafted well, minus the Tyler Boucher disaster.

Oddly enough, and you don't wanna spend a top 10 pick on this, I can see him being a very very effective 3rd/4th liner. Someone that can take the focus from the other team with a big hit or relentless forecheck. He's very strong and a good skater and very physical.

Might be a modern day Chris Neil. Way less fighting due to the new age, but loves to go for big hits and to catch the other team not paying attention or being lackadaisical by putting them through the boards. If he can put up 20-30 points, play PK, and hit like a truck on the forecheck while being responsible defensively, he can cement himself as a very valuable bottom 6.

Never said any of that. You literally made it all up, there is a quote option. You do realize that... Try it out. If I had actually said any of it why didn't you just QUOTE IT. Once again consistent with your posting. Terrible. And the irony in this post, you're stroking the Habs off in every thread right now.

I don't know enough about the other players to cast a vote, but I do know that Kaliyev makes some sick passes at times and has a sick shot.

Pinto is so just damn polished for a rookie... he does so many smart things all over the ice in all three zones...Now on a 5 game goal scoring streak too.

There are serious Patrice Bergeron-like elements to his game that can't be denied.

I'm guessing Kings fans won't be crazy to hear this, but I don't think Ottawa would even trade Pinto for Byfield in a 1 for 1 as of today. Nevermind Kaliyev.

And this is coming from a huge fan and believer in Byfield, who still obviously Has a higher ceiling right now. Byfield has all the talent in the world, but the biggest fears about how his game would translate at the pro level have started become real concerns as of now, in his D+3 season.

But Pinto has already shown his going to be at very least a high end middle six player. And it's very likely he's got much more to give beyond that.
