85 points, should probably replace top 6 with first line. I dunno, I think if Minnesota trades him theyd get something better than pinto.

That is a tremendous case that you made for your position. Surely can't argue with it. And technically, I didn't speak a word.

So ottowa has to add here. No team will trade a player like Fiala for a prospect. One whose not even the top C prospect in their team, and had injuries issues according to some ottowa fans that are mysterious

Pinto is Ottawa’s best forward prospect and second best prospect overall. Only player who beats him out is Jake Sanderson.
His injury history is public, he had shoulder surgery and will be ready for opening night, nothing mysterious at all.

I sure didn't say that he sucked or anything.
If Pinto isn’t an A list prospect, neither is Rossi. Simple as that. If you’re denying this notion, respectfully you don’t know what you’re talking about.

So you’re saying you want 2 A list prospects and a 7th overall pick for your top-6 winger.

If that’s the price it’ll take, no way in hell do you get any bites on that hook.
I didn't say 7OA. Maybe something like a '24 1st is closer.

I don't see Pinto as a home run A list prospect. Surely a 1 for 1 with a young ppg is not even.

Ottawa should try keeping its young players and just get a guy in UFA instead.

Even if you have to pay a bit more in the UFA market, there are a lot of interesting players in UFA this year, and one of them + Pinto ought to be worth more than Fiala. Bid on Forsberg, Gaudreau, Giroux, Perron, Marchment, Burakovsky, Nichushkin. And if you're going to be cheap, Max Domi should be a steal.

You do know Fiala is coming off an 85 pts season?

Was it a career year or a breakthrough season? There are many examples of guys exploding for one season only to come back down to earth the rest of their careers.

Vincent Trocheck.. 75 pts in 17-18. He was one of the most coveted players after that season. Since, he has settled back as a good but not great top 6 forward.

Pinto is tracking to be a good 50 point 2-way centerman in the NHL. Giving him up for Fiala is fair, but I'm not sure I'd pull the trigger on that deal.

I am not sure this is the best fit to be honest. As a neutral fan in this trade, I am not under the impression that OTT has an impressive C depth that they can trade away their best center prospect. In a vacuum Fiala has more value for a contender than Pinto right now but is OTT contending right now ?

Also what is going to be Fiala's next contract ? And would he able to repeat this year's performance in a much weaker team ?

Sens have Norris and Stutzle at center. While Pinto is an amazing prospect, likely the best two-way out of the bunch, Sens have pretty good depth down the middle now. Stutzle had 58 points as a 20 year old playing with 3rd liners, Norris scored 35 goals in 66 games.

That said you're likely completely right that Ottawa doesn't consider trading Pinto. He is very highly regarded and was considered to be one of the top 2 centers in Ottawa going forward before the season started with Norris. When Pinto got injured they moved Stutzle to center and the rest is history, Stutzle is likely the 1C going forward.

I think there's a bigger chance to make a deal around the 7OA and/or maybe some other pieces like Greig, maybe Connor Brown. I could maybe see the team consider moving one of Formenton or Joseph if MIN would want a roster player .. but not Pinto.

For your second point I think Fiala didn't play with incredible players all year. Sure on the PP he did play with a great unit but at 5on5 he was playing with Freddy Gaudreau as his center and then he played with Boldy as well when he got to the big club. In Ottawa he would likely play with Stutzle and then someone like Joseph or C.Brown. I feel like that would probably be similar level players and he creates a lot on his own so I feel like he could produce just as much in Ottawa.
