Make this guy 1C, Stu back on the wing

Stutzle - Pinto - Batherson
Stu is our #1C and it isn't even close. I can see Pinto moving up though.

Without Brady I see this scenario as far more plausible, perhaps even mandatory.

X - Stu - Batherson
G - Cozens - Pinto
X - Greig - Amadio
Z - Halliday - Foegele

Stu and Pinto can both take draws. From hockey reference, at 5-on-5, his zone-start percentages were:
  • 29.8% Offensive Zone Starts (oZS%)
  • 70.2% Defensive Zone Starts (dZS%)
Playing mostly with Amadio and Giroux/Grieg and a bit of Cousins he put up 46pts (5PPP).
Give him PP time and 70% OZS, with talented wingers, this guy can be a two way 70pt beast.
I’m just saying, if he can be utilized more in an offensive role while already being sound defensively, you get a Patrice Bergeron lite

I agree, but think having them together isn’t as effective as elevating Pinto and having 2 offensive lines with flexibility.

There has to be some reason Pinto doesn't get PP time...I think of his one-timer in NoDak and a few seasons ago with G in the preseason. It can't all be so he can be fresh when our PP is over...

I’ve been pretty adamant that Pinto needs to move into the 2C spot. He’s paid like one and there is more offensive potential. Hes been saddled with shutting down the opposing teams best line but I think he has more offensive output

We can't be paying a 3rd liner 7.500.
He needs to be moved up to play 2C or traded for a RW for Timmy IMO

Move Grieg to 3C, and Cozens to wing.

This leads to a better outcome IMO
