Well, when Norris got hurt in the game vs the Wild, Green said he'd miss a few weeks. That was a few weeks ago, so seems right on schedule.
Pinto I think they were hopeful would be ready for the game against Fla if I recall, but that may have been before they were able to do further testing. .
Some injuries don't have as clear of a timeline as others. Broken bones are pretty easy, while something like a bad back is close to throwing darts to figure out when they'll be back.
Seems like making a mountain out of a molehill to me,
Day to day and a few weeks are the same thing, we don't know it could be any time. Could they play in the playoffs, maybe, but against Montreal when we have another 3 days off? Maybe you sit out.
Most teams are vague about injuries, unless you are Vegas and everyone needs to go on LTIR.

criticism of Green has shifted from his ability to coach in this league to the appearance of perhaps not being completely forth coming on when players are to return from injuries. Have to whine about something.

I think it's way too soon to laud Travis Green's coaching abilities.
Right now the team is essentially in the same spot that we were at the end of February 2023, under DJ Smith, right before we went out and acquired Chychrun. Just out of a wildcard spot but very much "in the mix"!
We tailspinned the rest of that year.
What will happen this season? Well... we're currently on a 4 game losing streak so it's not looking great.

Gotta disagree here. Even if our offense has disappeared and despite all the injury troubles, we've played a better defensive game. Even guys like Bath and Brady who are normally liabilities in our own zone are no longer cheating for offense and are involved in our own end. I attribute that to Green's coaching + some stellar goaltending we've got
100 percent. At no point under DJ did the team play well defensively. They now do that on a regular basis but it’s come at the expense of offence. And that get amplified when missing as many as 3 top six players.

Green had them humming till a) they sent Levi down, and the injuries started piling up ; looking back I think Steve should have made a move to keep Levi up and rolling and rolled the dice on the goalies.. vs getting hamstrung with no cap space to even get a player off ltir and no way to make a move. Very cautious and that could cost us as much as anything.
If players don't slot properly which has been the case for the past 5 games at least things look out of sorts.
No one will convince me that the depth is here to overcome losing Pinto and Norris .. it just isn't ... it shows how shallow we are. Yje take Brasy out.,,,And we have played some good and hungry teams ,
It's not easy losing 2 of your top 3 Cs.
Tampa, Tampa, Florida, Winnipeg is pretty much as tough a 4 out of 5 game stretch as it gets to boot.
They always say next man up ...but that depends.

He trying to play with 4 lines but we obviously don't have the depth to be a team that's roll 4 lines for scoring and two way play. I always though that norris game was more suited to the wing. He is really good on the dot it's probably the only reason why still a center in the NHL. But his speed , goalscorer mentality ( shot + knows where to be on the ice ), only weakness I see from him as winger is he weak on board play + his shoulder injury which is huge for a winger.
Still dont why we dont try him with Tchuky and Stu they already have great chemistry off the ice and has some on the PP in past seasons. Pinto is already a good option a 2C. Grieg is better when he play as 3rd C.We have the solution to make this team better just need to be creative with what we got.
Giroux would be great on 3rd too , with Perron play as front net presence for 2nd line with Beans and Batherson

You make a deadline deal and push down Perron and all of a sudden we look really good.
Baffling to me we haven't trade Norris on wing but we would consider Boeser. Could be exact same effect without messing with locker room and we know he's consistent goalscorer AND good defensively.
40 goals will be really tough to ever reach without PP1 time.
It’s funny because he’s not even always on PP2. Last night it was Norris, Perron, Greig and Gaudette, then after his two goals he got subbed in for Gaudette.
I don’t think he is great on the PP so it makes some sense. Maybe in time he will get more opportunity. But on a team that isn’t very good 5v5 he’s such an important piece.

My brother, he'll be on PP1 as soon as next year. Giroux will be off it. Norris has already lost his spot to Giroux.
Maybe but I’m not so sure about that. Like Norris, he has limitations in his playmaking that might not make him the ideal player there.
He played on it last year when Norris got injured and Jacques eventually took him off for Giroux. Giroux might not lose his spot anytime soon as the puck movement is a lot better with him. After that who knows, we will hopefully have acquired another quality forward. Part of it probably depends on whether Timmy can improve his faceoffs too.

One of his best games of late. Back to the pinto we hoped to see.
The whole team woke up half way through that game led by Sanderson(incredible) and pinto. They stood out.
