Pinto's lack of offensive production is not exclusively on him. He's not put in a position to succeed given his skillset. It's a roster construction problem. He needs to play with someone creative that will put him situations to use his shot more.
i would just take the point production, would mean someone is scoring. Ideally pinto starts scoring and soon but if he can end in that 35-45 point range then its not the worst production from the third lineHow's he gonna score when he has 31 SoG in 20 GP, playing 17 minutes per night? That's pathetic. He has a career shooting percentage of 9.8, so even if he was scoring at his career average, we would expect him to have 3G instead of 1. That's still not remotely good enough. If he shot at his career best 12.7%, he would have 4G and would still be pacing for well under 20G.
For comparison, last year he had 110 SoG in 41GP producing 9G, 18A, 27P.
He went through a 5 game stretch with only 2 shots and wasn’t playing well at all - probably lost his confidence. He has been much better over the last two games and presumably will continue to shoot more. How's he gonna score when he has 31 SoG in 20 GP, playing 17 minutes per night? That's pathetic. Agreed. That line has been good lately and not rewarded for their efforts. Pintos skating has looked better in the last half dozen games. I remain convinced he was trying to play through some kind of injury. He will be fine.Pinto the type of guy to get 10 points in next 10 games and change everything.
He is going to be something special for us, lest ya'll worry at all, lol.
Pinto is going to be a great player & has the skillset to most likely turn into a 2nd line centre.
He has been very unlucky for a few games now. Playing well. Not scoring.
His line has played well via hard work and good board play.
The 3 highest CF% on the team last night. Cousins, Amadio, Pinto. All 20+ CF Good soldier line that tilts the ice but is missing some finish.
Pinto was 81.25% on faceoffs .. all situations. winning 13 ; next highest wins was G with 8
according to NST
Agree but at the same time Cousins and Amadio (no real offensive creativity guys) have double his points total in 6 and 8 more gamesLast season he played lots with Batherson and Brady with Norris out and for sure he can play a top 6 roll with the right wingers, but with his current linemates who have no real offensive creativity, Pinto needs guys to get him the puck and that’s okay, but without a better winger to play with he’s Bob Gainey offense (8-14 goals) and with a winger he’s Patrick Sharpe offense (25-33 goals)
I think Pinto had the most minutes of all the forwards last night, I realize some of that is due to PK time. However, Norris is on the 1st line and also PKs and had fewer minutes. Could his lack of production be partly explained by the role his line has been assigned? I noticed when playing at home, his line gets the tougher match-ups. He's been so good in the dot and the PK. I think the production will come once he gets that monkey off his back, but at least he's contributing in other ways in the meantime.Signs of life for sure. Thought he looked much better last night and has been trending up.
Again, no production, but Amadio was all over the puck last night too. Liked that line.
Edit: Amadio did have an assist
