Pinto's lack of offensive production is not exclusively on him. He's not put in a position to succeed given his skillset. It's a roster construction problem. He needs to play with someone creative that will put him situations to use his shot more.
i would just take the point production, would mean someone is scoring. Ideally pinto starts scoring and soon but if he can end in that 35-45 point range then its not the worst production from the third lineHow's he gonna score when he has 31 SoG in 20 GP, playing 17 minutes per night? That's pathetic. He has a career shooting percentage of 9.8, so even if he was scoring at his career average, we would expect him to have 3G instead of 1. That's still not remotely good enough. If he shot at his career best 12.7%, he would have 4G and would still be pacing for well under 20G.
For comparison, last year he had 110 SoG in 41GP producing 9G, 18A, 27P.
He went through a 5 game stretch with only 2 shots and wasn’t playing well at all - probably lost his confidence. He has been much better over the last two games and presumably will continue to shoot more. How's he gonna score when he has 31 SoG in 20 GP, playing 17 minutes per night? That's pathetic. Agreed. That line has been good lately and not rewarded for their efforts. Pintos skating has looked better in the last half dozen games. I remain convinced he was trying to play through some kind of injury. He will be fine.Pinto the type of guy to get 10 points in next 10 games and change everything.
He is going to be something special for us, lest ya'll worry at all, lol.
