True, but other Russian players have. He's already signed a contract with us.

We have an entire squad of D as legitimate prospects. I don't even know what to do with this information.
Even if we don’t have room for them all, if they keep progressing, they can be moved for help where we need it. Fitz has done a hell of a job.We have an entire squad of D as legitimate prospects. I don't even know what to do with this information.
Or just replace every player with a D-man and never get scored on again, Devils-puck era.Even if we don’t have room for them all, if they keep progressing, they can be moved for help where we need it. Fitz has done a hell of a job.
Luke, Seamus, Simon, Shak, and Bahl/Okhotyuk are like the infinity stones.

But the price for a movie ticket is the same! Some stones are more powerful than others.
Good news for Devils fans
Shakir said he will compete for spot in Devils roster next season
And if he doesn't make the big club? Would he stay in the AHL or go back to Russia?Good news for Devils fans

The obvious issue here is the number of young d-men looking to break into the lineup. But we need to break them in eventually, and if they are good enough, the concern is not as much as one might expect.
Awesome. Love that mindset as well.View attachment 618641
Sorry for my bad english
"I will end this year as Salavat player and when it ends, I will travel to NA. It`s done. I will fight for NHL roster spot, if it needs to play in AHL or play NHL role from the beggining - doesn`t matter, I`m ready for everything."
I’m skeptical Nemec is ready but you could easily have Luke Mukh and Bahl and OK competing for three spots on the team.Love his attitude.
I know many fans are worried about possibly breaking in two rookies on defense next year between Hughes, Nemec or Muk if Graves and Severson walk...but personally, I'm not concerned. Might be a slight step back in the regular season, but we should hopefully still have a team that can be among the top in the league and cruise to a playoff berth even with two rookie D (not to mention possibly Thompson and/or Foote up front). By the time the playoffs roll around, whichever rookies make the roster have a good amount of NHL experience and I'm not too worried about them being rookies at that point.
