Did you know skinner had better numbers than bob in the finals last year?

Because our forwards ran up the score in games 4-6, when the chips were on the table though he stepped his game up and was the best player on either team in game 7.

That's why he has a Cup ring while Skinner can enjoy some ringed potato chips tonight instead.

One real positive in the last while has been the play of Hyman. He's found his scoring tough again. Easily the best Oiler tonight. Sure glad he's alright. Without that visor it might have been end of career--scary.
Instead, it was just the end of his career with a normal sized schnozz. He had a full blown honker under that face shield. Could have been much worse.

They're not going to do anything in net, this is just a lazy organization for that, has been for like 15-20 years at least now.

Why would it change now.

The only way they will ever do anything is if Skinner full on embarrasses them and goes on a tear of being unplayable, but he's just good enough to eek out a few wins and fraud his way into keeping the starting job.
Organizationally, the only philosophy that can really change is that they draft a goalie high. And then they stilll have to have the luck that a goalie is even available in the year they have a pick to risk on that goalie. I guess if you want that to change sure.

But if you think this organization hasn’t been cycling goalies over and over whether by trade or free agency to find a guy, i think you should review our history of goaltending, and see how many bullets we’ve tried and failed and sometimes succeeded with.

“Costly mistakes that shouldn’t happen” - Knoblauchs summation of the game.

Those mistakes will get cleaned up. Easilly correctable. Ain’t nothing you can do but move on and trust that it will. And it will, with this team and this coach it will.

Some of those mistakes, sure.

When is .892 gonna get cleaned up? Any time this year?

Even .905 last year was nothing to be proud of.

When those mistakes are cleaned up. We see higher save percentages. Solving one, solves the other.

They're not going to do shit, they're a bunch of phonies.

At least I can take some solace in the fact that this loss probably felt like a swift kick in the nuts to everyone in the Oilers higher up front office ... no doubt they were ready to cluck and strut after it was 4-2 and probably might even have to ask an uncomfortable question about Skinner.

But that's the extent of it. They're too stupid and lazy to actually do anything about it. They'll go get their middling top 4 D and maybe a depth 4C and call it a deadline because it's too hard to do much more.
They never should have given the game back after being up 4-2. So what are we gonna get now, another long losing streak to Florida?:dunno:

lol, they're the laziest team in the league for goaltending. Won't even change the goaltending coach.

Glen Sather gifted them the best goalie in the McDavid era for peanuts in Talbot as a favor.

They then "tried so hard" that were the geniuses that went and got some no-name turd from the KHL and then some how signed him to a three year extension and then ON TOP of that didn't really even try to trade this guy, he some how played his ENTIRE contract here with us, lol.

You call that effort?

Then because they were too lazy to move Koskinen, they just signed 39 year old Mike Smith cuz Dave Tippett.

And then the ONE year they actually can say they tried, they decided Jack Campbell was the guy. He had to shame them into utter embarrassment before Holland was forced at gun point to send him to the AHL. Dude likely had a drinking problem while he was here, doubt anyone in the front office had any clue.

So that's done with, and what do they do? Just do the zero effort approach and annoint their 3rd round pick goalie the chosen one starter no questions asked because he's from the Edmonton area and has a funny mustache, so that's gotta work.

This is the laziest org in the NHL looking for goalies. It's almost funny.

Yeah he is red hot right now. Back to his scoring ways. Could have had a hatty tonight

It’s a meritocracy. I expect excellence if you’re on the roster. If you’re too old to be excellent it’s incumbent upon management to make a change. This isn’t complex.

Well, Skinner isn't excellent and probably never will be. So you must agree they need to make some changes there?

Best goalie ever Talbot huh? So what happened to him? Why did he completely fail and get run out of town after 1.5 good years? Why then did he go off to 4-6 different teams having up and down and up and down years?

It’s almost like there’s things outside of goaltending talent that affects their performances.

In any case, your whole post confirms that they’ve tried. And doesn’t indicate laziness. But incompetence or bad scouting sure. But if the point is that they didn’t try, and never tried, well that’s simply not true.

Changing the topic.

That Nurse 4 min penalty might’ve cost us the game.

That happened because the ref decided to give him an unsportsmanlike penalty IN THE FIRST PERIOD.

The f***ing game just started, how the hell are you giving an extra two for chirping at that point?!?

Also Rat Boy kicked the puck.

Absolutely.

The problem being and what I’ve said now 4 times, there’s not much out there that’s better.

Unless you’re getting Vejmelka, Montembeault, UPL or Saros you’re not solving jack shit.

He's the best in the McDavid era, so if you're going to shit on him, what does it say about the others?

They are LAZY. Lazy, lazy, lazy, sorry if you don't like to hear it.

They can't even fire their mediocre goaltending coach even after he resoundingly recommended Jack Campbell, lol.

How many teams would bet the farm on a rando KHL goalie and then keep his mediocre ass for 4 full seasons. How hard did they really try to move that guy? They just saw ancient ass Smith and decided to go cheap.

Talbot has had how many up and down years by the way? In 13 seasons he has lower than .908 save percentage like twice. I'd say that's pretty f***ing consistent.

Their "try" is pathetic. No other NHL org IMO would run themselves this way not if given McDavid and Draisaitl, probably not even Buffalo.

I doubt they try anything this year either, doesn't matter if Skinner has mediocre numbers all through the season. STOOOOEY is our guy! That's THAT!

Colin Campbell loves when we eat our own instead of focusing on his BS. Huge win for Campbell tonight. Another one huge W after he f***ed us out of a Cup.

I doubt it's impossible to acquire the first two. They will have to give to get.

I said "If" lmao. Also if you think mcdavid isnt getting sick of skinners shit then lol
I’ve heard McD critique lots of areas of our game. Whether that’s clean finishing, team defence, effort or whatever. So I’ve seen evidence of his critiques. When and where did he ever bring up Skinner?
