The 150-year-old tree that inspired Alexander Muir to write the "Maple Leaf Forever" did not survive the storm in tact.

Awesome lightshow over the lake right now.

Yeah man that was wicked. probably the best lightning show ive ever seen, a lot of touching down but even more heat lightning. Lasted a good two hours, too.

What would you call it then? A triumph? A victory? That tree has been standing for longer than most peoples families have been in this country. I would say it is sad, Rick.
