Bolder is pretty ironic since it’s pretty obvious that you don’t actually watch Jones.
Can you comment without actually trying to pick a fight about it? What about my analysis of Jones is wrong? I know I don't watch him as much as Chicago fans do, but his two-way play hasn't been impressive to me in my limited viewings for years. I'll admit that maybe he just had some bad games though, feel free to discuss this like a grown-up and provide some insight though.

To Chicago: Darnell Nurse LD like 7 years at 9.25 Million Dollars

To Edmonton: Seth Jones RD 7 years at 9.5 Million Dollars.

Before you guys come at me I'm not seriously proposing this but assume this was a possibility and both waived their NMC which team would you say would be better off on a deal like this.
Jones is a mid level #1. He’s better than Nurse.

Yet AGAIN we have fans of other teams trying to get Jones out of Chicago.
Has anyone noticed that Hawk fans never make these (word deleted by poster) proposals.
So AGAIN We appreciate your concern for our team but really no thank you.
Also, this at least was better than the Canuck fans offer to help us out the other day.

Lol that was me 💀💀 but tbh that got kinda lost in translation I was just trying to figure out what Jones value was cause everywhere I looked he was deemed a salary dump, I'm not saying the Hawks should trade Jones but I'm mainly trying to see the perceived value of players. This trade is not in any way serious moreso to see in a vacuum who would say no and who would say yes. At the moment Hawks fans are saying no and Edmonton fans are also saying no, although the overwhelming majority seems to favour Jones right now.

this is another example of people not really knowing anything about a player other than what the HF consensus has decided on him.

And I am the one trying to pick a fight?

Seth Jones is just significantly better than Nurse. I am not sure what else I need to say. The idea that the Oilers wouldn’t jump at the chance to upgrade to him at almost the same cap hit is, IMO, laughable. Being a Canadian, and watching the Oilers a lot in the playoffs for the last several years, I feel pretty comfortable in my assessment. If you feel differently, that’s fine.

As soon as the Hawks get some more talent on the team, Jones' reputation will rebound and there will be no issue moving the last 3-4 years of the deal if they have to.

Jones is a pretty good d-man. He hasn't been helped by his d-partners and poor overall team defense over the last couple years - and it probably won't get appreciably better this season either with at least 2 or 3 and sometimes 4 rookie d-men in the lineup backed up by average-at-best goaltending.

The good news for Hawks fans is that he still has plenty of prime seasons to go with his skating ability and body type so maybe he'll look a lot better when the team gets better.

To be fair couldn’t you kind of say the same thing about Nurse?

Lol jones had 15 less even strength points while nurse was the 11th best with virtually no pp time with the number one unit.

And Jones is overpaid because of Holland taking the Keith contract at full cap hit, also meant they couldn't protect Larsson. Just a comedy of errors there.
actually we didn't protect Larsson because he made it known he wasn't going to re-sign here. (Wanted a fresh start, and given that his father died in Edmonton on a visit to see him... can't blame the guy)

Jones is a low end #1, Nurse is a low end #2

Both heavily flawed players for what they make. I don’t think either team would win this trade

That wasn't a response to you alone, it was a comment about the misconceptions about the quality of Nurse's play. My apologies if it came across as a personal attack, that was not my intention, and I'm certainly not trying to pick a fight. There's an awful lot to Nurse's game to like, and that goes unnoticed here a lot, but I wasn't trying to attack you.

As per the bolded, just some examples of why you think Jones is better would be nice. Upon my viewing, Jones is a better puck mover but Nurse does more to keep puck out of the net, even if he does make the highlight reel with giveaways that would suggest otherwise sometimes. His goal differential supports the high quality of his play. His even-strength point production is near the top of the league among defensemen. He doesn't get PP time because we have had PP specialists (Barrie and Bouchard), and he can't play 30 35 minutes a night. If the Oilers needed someone to come in and play the PP, I could see why they might prefer Jones, but I don't think they do, and I don't think they would have the pieces to replace what they would be losing in Nurse if they made that trade.

Close to a fair trade, I do believe Jones is the better player by a bit.

Edmonton still declines though

Nurse is overpaid but Jones' deal is just as bad. Nurse has at least steadily gotten better while Jones has gotten progressively worse but is still riding his previous good rep

tbh it depends on if you need a leftie or a rightie but right shots do seem more rare

Both super overpaid but Jones is IMO, better than Nurse

Either Edmonton add to upgrade or no deal from Chicago

We didn’t protect Larson because he was an unsigned UFA and no team in the nhl protected those guys.

What is Jones being better than nurse based on? A few secondary pp assists?

Based on what exactly? What else you need to say is exactly why, because "I said so" is not a reason.
