Seth Jarvis haunts me. | Page 2 | HFBoards - NHL Message Board and Forum for National Hockey League

Seth Jarvis haunts me.

Reminds me of Giroux as a 2nd year player during the Flyers 2010 Run to the Cup. Giroux finished with 20 points in the Playoffs. I can see Jarvis getting there too if Carolina goes to the Finals. Same type of crafty hard-working game.

Current playoff stats: 8GP, 3G, 3A, 6P. Tied with Aho as of today, 2 behind the team lead.

Of all the many blunders we've seen my organization make, I think trading away this pick will be looked back on as one of the worst during this management's reign.

This kid looks like an absolute gamer at 20. I realistically was not worried about Carolina getting him on draft day because I thought he'd go in the 7-9 range...when he fell to our pick, I just knew it was going to be painful to watch him.

Canes got a beauty. :cheer:
Well said. The kid is terrific.

Just call K’Andre Miller to take care of him again

This wasn’t even the best part, I still can’t find the clip but K’Andre got Jarvis again on that shift with another big hit at the other end of the ice. Was pretty funny

But you know what’s even more funny? Kyle Dubas trading a 1st round pick to move Marleau to Carolina for a buyout. Marleau had 1 year left on his contract at around a 6.5 million dollar cap hit. The Leafs were bounced in the qualifiers by the Blue Jackets and that pick ended up becoming Seth Jarvis. The guy with a 4 million dollar cap hit that forced the Leafs to trade Marleau? Cody Ceci. Lol

Next season, Jeff Gorton was able to trade Marc Staal’s cap hit of 5.7 million and it only cost him a 2nd lmao

Weird post.

this is why it helps not to always focus on the short term. You got to at least keep your firsts unless you have a very strong shot at a cup.

One of Seth Jarvis' headshots from his peewee days. If hockey doesn't work for him (like if KAndre Miller pops him a couple more times), he could always go find work as a clown in the travelling circus.

Are you really putting a picture of a then minor and making jokes that a kid looks like a clown?

How shameless - what are you - a middle aged man making fun of a child?

Toronto losing in the COVID "play in" round caused the pick to drop to 13. Was originally on track to be 19-22ish
Lol they should’ve just beat the Blue Jackets then. Not to forget Dubas got bent on the initial trade regardless of what happened

Jarvis is too tall for Dubas. No doubt he would have passed.

Leafs wouldn't have drafted him anyways. They would have taken Amirov still and not traded for Pittsburgh's first and looked for a different asset instead.

I feel like the Leafs should be more haunted by Carter Verhaeghe's recent work, but that's just me. :dunno:
I disagree because of how far off he was from success at the time. Looking at his transaction history, the Leafs,

Carter at the time in a deal for Grabner vs a 13 OA pick because of Marleau ...., big difference in f*** ups.

One of Dubas's many failed trades.

But watch out for the apologist army.

Jarvis himself - a great find.

It's always so strange when people walk into a thread and demand it be about their team, when it really has nothing to do with them.
