Undefenseable defense.

Smoked in a game deciding first period with zero team structure and low work effort against a buzzsaw Penguins forecheck. Quite likely their worst period of the season. Shitty net front defending support and wide open high danger looks converted before the Oilers showed up in the right time zone. This was a collective team fail.

Reasonable effort against a leaky team to try to get back into this game. But this sloppy, uninspired effort was done early. Maybe some overconfidence with an opponent that was on the menu for lopsided W's the past several years. Sucks to leave two points in Pittsburg with this terrible effort after a dialled up one in Boston.

The teams showed their quality difference after the first 20. But the first 20 was such a clown show it was hard to overcome.

Frustrating loss, I think the team was reading their own press clippings after that Boston beatdown. Stu included.

I’ve watched that 1GA over and over can’t still can’t figure out why Stu abandoned his butterfly to give up his 5 goal. He complained about some contact but I didn’t see much there.

2GA was post in with a screen, but you’d like a save there. 3GA I can’t blame Stu on that net front breakdown, clean pass and clean shot from 2 ft out. 4GA you’d like a save there on an unscreened albeit nice shot from distance. 5GA is a no chancer for any goalie in the League. Overall Stu wasn’t good enough tonight.

2 goals on the defence. 3 on the Stu. Equals one shitty night of Oilers hockey.

Glad to see Drai pot 2 for the rocket race though.

Not too much happening with our depth tonight.

Both McDrai looked frustrated out there though, probably felt they could have scored more than 3.

Bouch Bombs are currently more like fire crackers. But it’ll come around.

The one simple thing I don’t like about this new layout is not being able to switch pages until you get to the bottom of the page. It also doesn’t appear that you’re able to move forward to the last page of a thread either. The only page option I’m seeing is the next page.

These are the kinds of features that are added in after the migration bugs are out. As per what it says they're not finished yet. I'm liking it so far. Really I wish one could opt for this minimal look and features as its taking up less bandwidth.

Team outside of Draisatl sucked. Pens content to let Bouchard take unscreened limpdick wristers from the point all day long. That 6-on-5 was downright pitiful. McDavid with some nice assists but I want to see him be more assertive with the opportunities he's given too.

Also this team really struggles to score outside McDrai. Like REALLY struggles.

Team outside of Draisatl sucked. Pens content to let Bouchard take unscreened limpdick wristers from the point all day long. That 6-on-5 was downright pitiful. McDavid with some nice assists but I want to see him be more assertive with the opportunities he's given too.

Also this team really struggles to score outside McDrai. Like REALLY struggles.

They are a bit for sure, it was just a disaster.

Debrusk was all for giving Ekholm first star tonight. What a cluelss f***. How do you not give it to Draisaitl with 2 goals and who was around all the OIlers offense and had half the teams scoring chances?

Basically anything Debrusk says you can take as wrong. I never get why so many ex pugilists end up being commentators. They're like punch drunk and have the least informed things to say.

So many intelligent past Oilers players and this is who we get to do commentary. jebus.

Henrique getting 2 last game, that was nice. Won't happen again. At some point the "Every goalie is great against this team" argument becomes tiresome when so many players just don't go to the scoring areas or pass up on the times they do get there.

Lets be frank about Pens "aggressiveness" tonight. It lasted for 20mins if that, and was the product of losing 8 straight to the Oilers and givng up something like 39GA in those previous games. Oilers had embarassed and beat the Pens so many times that there was for once going be a bit of pushback. As little as it was from the Pens and the Pens were still the worst club on ice considering 60mins.

Also lol at Crosby being the one to get the Oilers back into the game at 3-0 giving up a stupid pass to the D that got picked and created our first goal.

Pens not deserving of a lot of credit. They just for once played a game with some semblance of how they have to play to have any success.

I would say at best - Pittsburgh played alright, but I was pointing out that the Oilers were basically a non-threat offensively once Mcdavid/Drai/Hyman stepped off the ice, not praising Pens for their play.

At this point, Bouchard needs to see the press box. He was directly responsible for the 1st goal, and 2 goals tonight. His lackadaisical plays on the PP and with the goalie pulled also was cringe. He keeps missing the puck at crucial times either by mishandling it or missing the puck altogether multiple times a game. I know they wont send him to the press box, but he needs a message sent to him by this coaching staff. Not good enough

Oilers desperately need an upgrade on Perry, J Skinner and S. Skinner. Not good enough. Arvidsson also keeps flopping everywhere, gets pushed off he puck easy. Multiple passengers. Not good enough

He frustrates me by trying to be so “fair” that he goes into biased against the Oilers territory. But no way he’s as dumb as Hrudey lol, that’s unpossible, as Hrudey might say.

You would think Skinner weights 800 pounds with the way he moves in goal. I still firmly believe that the Oilers should try to acquire another goalie at the trade deadline.

Not many instances of anybody other than McDavid, Draisaitl, and Hyman doing anything positive tonight. Flush it and hopefully take it out on Chicago.

Losing this one doesn't bother me much. The Penguins are desperately fighting to make the playoffs in a log jammed conference. However, if we lose to the Blackhawks...

I missed the first period, so I can't comment on how things went down there. Might have to watch the replay later to get a better sense of what happen and how the bad start played out.

Oiler's top line mostly dominated in the 2nd/3rd period though, but they seemed to be out of sync a bit, trying to overhandle/overpass a lot and stuff like that. Made the one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL in Pittsburgh and their extremely poor goaltender look a lot better than they usually do.

I can imagine it was a frustrating game for them, sure as hell was a frustrating game to watch.
