Post-Game Talk: Server migration = loss

Also decided Josh Brown needed to take a shift with the top line after the 3-1 goal for some reason. Immediately killed the play and the Pens come back and score.

Best part about that is 97 and 29 passing up multiple looks so they could snap it around and feed…..Brown.

He then turns it over, slow back, puck in the net. Almost like there are consequences to not just f***ing shooting it when down multiple goals.

I love the clean look of the board and with less features loads immediately, no funky problems the other was having. I'd take less features for a board that runs flawlessly. The last few mths of the last build was pretty glitzing.

Nothing much to say about the game. Oilers outplayed Pens for two periods, had more HDSC, more shots, more everything but we got goalied again.

Skinner couldn't keep us in it for one period. Nedz kept the Pens in it for final two periods where we were just dominating. He made 10 stops of a quality that we just didn't get.

Team can't play perfect 60 every night. But this is what happens when they don't.

Still need a goalie.
Main concern beyond the 1st period is that all of those HDSC were the top line. 3 lines were passengers tonight.

Not to dismiss the dismal play of those three lines, but the d men as a group were complete garbage tonight in all respects.

The breakouts were slow and disjointed complete with terrible passing. Top line can break out and in on their own, the others can’t.

Pittsburgh's aggressiveness was giving the Oilers 2nd - 4th liners a ton of trouble, seemed like the ice was visibly tilting every time Mcdrai stepped off the ice and the benchwarmers got on. Type of game where the supporting cast needed to step up, but they provided pretty much nothing offensively.

That last powerplay felt like their last chance to make a game of it, but they mishandled/miss-passed/miss-played their way to barely getting anything dangerous on net for the final 10 minutes of the 3rd despite a decent number of shots.

I thought Kapanen was good but there definitely some sleeper performances tonight down the lineup. Can't say I love Arvid getting such feature roles either. He isn't doing ANYTHING with it.

Yea, true. Noticed that early as well. Kulak in particular made like 5 or 6 really stupid passes.

Like I said in the GDT, lack of execution throughout the entire team outside of McDrai and Hyman at times.

Its the biggest priority come trade deadline. Sure, another RHD would be nice but the Oilers have to face the fact that yes, sometimes Stu looks great but when you want to go all the way, you need the consistency--and I don't think that's being unfair to Stu. It is what it is.

Lets be frank about Pens "aggressiveness" tonight. It lasted for 20mins if that, and was the product of losing 8 straight to the Oilers and givng up something like 39GA in those previous games. Oilers had embarassed and beat the Pens so many times that there was for once going be a bit of pushback. As little as it was from the Pens and the Pens were still the worst club on ice considering 60mins.

Also lol at Crosby being the one to get the Oilers back into the game at 3-0 giving up a stupid pass to the D that got picked and created our first goal.

Pens not deserving of a lot of credit. They just for once played a game with some semblance of how they have to play to have any success.

How isn't this obvious? 3-0 not even at the 10min mark. Meanwhile opponent goalie taking goals back for much of the game. Oilers would have had 10 tonight against Stewed Skinner.

Yeah - you play the "switch the goalie's" game and it's laughable. How many ten bell you aren't supposed to make that save type saves did nedelkovic make where you're just like "What?! How?"

How many did Skinner make? How many times did the pens even test Skinner with those kind of chances?!

Now you factor in the chances were in Edmontons favor, and our guy let's in 5 and their guy let's in 3... Like. Idk man.

I don't understand how you can watch that happen 9 times out of 10 and not just objectively understand that our guy isn't good enough.

The one simple thing I don’t like about this new layout is not being able to switch pages until you get to the bottom of the page. It also doesn’t appear that you’re able to move forward to the last page of a thread either. The only page option I’m seeing is the next page.

Did I hear during the broadcast that goaltending has been a major problem of late for the Penguins? It's unreal how many goalies who are struggling seem to play lights out against the Oilers.
