You right. United Airlines could definitely beat playoff hockey.

Either Pittsburgh's PK really sux or you've missed the last half of the season where we were about 11% or so.

I don't think I missed anything. Yes, the CBJ power play has beer bad for 2+ months. Pittsburgh's PK has been around 22nd in the league all year. At least the CBJ side of the equation was great at one point of this season.

Acknowledging that I am a half empty person in general and probably worse when it comes to the Jackets, I just don't see this series ending well. Without an offense we aren't going to win. I don't see how it is resurrected (although it tis the season) at this point. Our only hope is Murray stays hurt and Playoff Flower returns and Playoff Bob goes into hiding. Pens in 5 (or maybe its a sweep). :help:

Pens in 5 is where I'm at as well. We'll steal a game at home on pure emotion, but that'll be it.

This offense is pathetic (three high danger chances all game. averaged 9.5 per game in the regular season). 9 of last 12 games haven't gotten more than 2 goals. The PP is atrocious (1 of last 26). Seriously...fire Brad Larsen. Too much youth/inexperience/badness on the bottom pair, which has to play 7-8 a minutes (burned us last night twice). Pens are just too good.

I'm not ready to concede the series by any means.. Bob could still decide to play out of his mind like Jake Allen did on the road against the Wild last night, and we'd really have a shot. ;)

They dominated the 1st period and the last half of the 3rd.
They have the best goalie in the league this year.
They split the season series with the Pens.
This series has just begun. Don't give up so easy.

We aren't likely to win this series. I think most level headed CBJ fans would agree to this. Does it means we won't or can't win the series? No, that's why you play the games.

The score read 3-1 but we played fine. Dominated the first, but we need more prime chances (Pens D really locked us out of the middle. Kudos to them. But we can't let that happen again) and to convert on those chances. When the Pens make a push, or even score a goal, we can't fold up like a lawn chair for a few minutes like we did last night, or they will keep coming and keep scoring. That was concerning. Bob has to be better, he should have stopped two of the three goals. Torts made an error on the bottom pair, but that didn't cost us the game. The series isn't over by any means, its not an encouraging moment of course, but we can still push it to 6 or 7. We need more players other than Werenski and Calvert to show up.

I hope we see some changes of the forward lines for game 2

Foligno-Wennberg-Bjorkstrand
Jenner-Dubinsky-Anderson
Saad-Gagner-Atkinson
Calvert-Karlsson-Hartnell

Bjorkstrand's gotta create more chances in the slot in order to have success in this series. Cam really fought the puck in game 1, I think putting him on a line with Saad/Gagner will allow him to create more offense and maybe create a matchup problem.

I'm not saying it won't work but it sure didn't in the few games Torts tried this a couple weeks ago. I was thinking a Calvert-Dubi-Atkinson reunion might be in order - it's like saying to Cam "So maybe you can't always be the point per game guy, just be that spark plug you were for us for years".

In general I don't think the lines have been an issue. It wouldn't change the way last game went, at least not for the better. We saw in the first, guys fed off each other really well. It can be worse. Bjorkstrand was already moved up late last game, but I don't think Saad was bad at all. I want him getting more time not less.

Wow! I just don't get it.....Quincey is a vet who has won a Cup (well, on the practice squad) and has looked pretty good since being traded here.

And he'll be left in the dust out there.

We're really lucky they don't have Letang and Hagelin.. It's hard to imagine them getting any faster.

Carlsson should sit for Nutivaara. I can't say I blame Torts about Q. Makes sense to me

Carrlson and Harrington were the cause of 2/3 goals.

#2 Harrington didn't get into the shooting lane of Kessel and let him have an easy shot.

#3 Carrlson stopped playing and basically gave the player the whole let.
