  • Congrats to our latest Sportsbook winners - GOLD MEDAL kihei, SILVER MEDAL fish7 and BRONZE MEDAL Sammy Kat - new tournament begins today 6/15
I know Anaheim doesn't really need a RW, but maybe they could move one of their RW to the left side...

Mason McTavish
Chris Kreider
prospect (Luneau / Clara / L Pettersson)
50th overall pick

for

Kirill Marchenko
94th overall pick

Terry - Carlsson - Sennecke
Gauthier - Granlund - Marchenko
Killorn - Poehling - Vatrano
(Viel?) - Washe - Gaucher/Colangelo

Kreider - Fantilli - (Johnson/trade)
Monahan - McTavish - Garland
Voronkov - Coyle - Olivier
Del Bel Bulluz - C Sillinger - Wood

( edit - forgot to add McTavish to CBJ)

Assuming CBJ isn't interested.

Marchenko played LW all his pre-NHL career.

Dallas is also getting almost $10m in cap space here. That's A LOT. I think - at a minimum - you'd have to remove 14th overall or remove Del Bel Bulluz from the offer. As a starting point at least.
If Robertson is available, it is the kind if offer they will get IMO. (Good nhl player, mid 1st, prospect).

Given Marchenko is a premium top player, maybe the prospect can be B level... But I don't think Del Bel Belluz is a premium prospect either.

Time to move Columbus to Quebec City already.
[fart sounds]

dallas getting $10m for one year is actually huge here so yeah. i brought up a 1-for-1 swap a while ago and dallas fans were not happy but if they’re gonna trade robertson this is probably the best single player they could get in return, and the cap space lets them keep guys and make further improvements.

by the time marchenko’s deal is up, i believe seguin’s contract will also be done.

cool we’ll send you voronkov and the 14th pick and then they can play together in columbus

Wouldn't be out of the ordinary for Columbus. Remember when they gave the Kings Carter, Richards, and Gaborik to solidify the Kings to two Cup runs? Then they draft PLD and eventually send him to the Kings years later. Essentially a farm team for the Kings.

Lol what they never had anything to do with Richards, PLD was traded to WPG and Carter bailed on the team after basically just a few months

This is wildly inaccurate

Stop making this about your team. Someone might mistake you for a Habs fan if you keep that up.

Think you need to refresh on the history here.

I recall them sending PLD to Winnipeg, but sure.

cool, can you remind me who the GMs were who made those trades, and then look up who the current GM is? thanks

they traded a guy who had a public tantrum *during a game* and then proceeded to force his way off a second team, went to LA, sucked so bad they nearly ran him out of town and then moved him for a cap dump one year into a $64 million dollar contract.

he then had one good year on a washington team that over-performed, then spent all of last year injured.

laine sucks ass too but oh noooo how could the jackets possibly let a player like PLD go what were they thinkingggggg

Not sure why the Habs would entertain that but I feel like it would be the one thing CBJ would consider
In reality they wouldn't, not because Cole is the better player, but because of the huge disruption to the core/ room and cap structure. He's best buds with Suzuki, and has longterm cost certainty at a bargain rate.

I can see merit in the downgrade in goal scoring from CC to Marchenko, to gain and edge in size and physicality but I don't think the Habs seriously trade CC.

Yeah; we wouldn't be trading Marchenko in such a deal for pretty much the same sorts of reasons. It's one of those things that ChelGMs and statcounters think would be a perfectly fine lateral swap but in practice would be immensely stupid for both sides.

frankly the only way they even consider moving marchenko is if they get a star back. caufield would definitely do it but idk why montreal would agree to that
Maybe because Caufield totally disappears in the playoffs type of hockey, he plays like he's scared

We need to bulk up our top 6 and it would address that.

Let's say

Marchenko +14th

For

Caufield + 28th

?
