...didn't say he was "faking"; said NHLers play through much worse all the time...and his play on the ice is evidence of "phoning it in"...
So his agent is lying when he says his client is injured to cover up for the fact he's just phoning in. Your evidence is his play on ice. Wouldn't the easier explanation be simply be exactly what the agent is saying? Client is dealing with some injuries from last year, couldn't practice during the off-season, and is playing with with a nagging injury that just takes time to recover but he can play through it.

...amigo, if that is all fine with you, accept the reasoning...I personally think of it as an excuse for poor play...

...what about his "showing" in the 4 Nations??...that doesn't have anything to do with Vancouver...
How many players have had bad tournaments before? I could care less about a bad tournament.

There's definitely something wrong because he's just plummeted after two years. The only other young player I've seen flame out like this was goalie Jim Carrey. I don't buy that a talent like Pettersson is just cratering because of a lack of heart. There's something else going on. Nobody is wanting to speak about it though.

...Laine did the same thing, honestly...started out like gangbusters and then fell off a cliff...some "Superstars" aren't cut out to play the role...

And often correct too.

He's still playing with a nagging injury and didn't have the off-season to practice. Pettersson will recover and put up 100 points again, and people will be scratching their heads as to why they couldn't do some basic Google searches to find out if he's injured or not.
I mean, if he has a nagging injury, what the actually f is he is doing playing in this tournament?

“Malaise” isn’t a valid reason.

Srsly though, couldn’t train due to knee tendinitis? And ppl were like, “ohh, ok, that’s fine” and I felt like “..no, that’s arguably more concerning.”

Dunno if it’s still that, but doesn’t that just get worse?
I injured my elbow tendon and it only took 2-3 years before it returned to 100% health. I did not go to a doctor.

No idea why some players fail to produce on the big stage OR when playing for their team internationally. Just like there is no explanation why some players excel.

JEE has been hurting for most of this season, and missed the last Wild game before the tournament due to a LBI. I thought he was excellent, and played his ass off, giving SWE some of the grit and toughness that they needed. Not all players, and injuries, are the same, but if he is that badly hurt he shouldn't play. He was a ghost out there.

I have no idea what's wrong with EP. He's not old, and was so good 3-4 years ago.
