I did see the game, he's a leader because he plays with heart and puts the team first, unlike others who just look for a big paycheque. He's also a leader because their isn't many other leaders on the team and he's naturally next in line. Our d was very soft last year without boro and noticeably better when he returned.

Playing with heart is playing smart. Not going out chasing hits so you can pad the hits stats. Boro and the way he plays is one of the most selfish players on the team. He is constantly giving up 2 on 1s and opportunities to the other team. Boro is not a team player.

I loved Neil and Volchenkov. boroweicki isnt fit to tie their skates.

Boro, Methot and Phaneuf all chased hits it was part of the game plan , as long as a forward covered.

It became less of the plan because Methot left, Phaneuf became much slower and Boro had injury problems. Teams we're then able to cross our blueline freely.

Methot never chased hits. Phaneuf did but it's nothing compared to how Boro chases hits. He constantly leaves his partner out to dry.

I'd say anyone who just shows up to criticize the GDT for not suiting their tastes in discussion is definitely worse.
Just because I don't comment often doesn't mean I'm not here. As a few posters have discovered anytime you say anything that doesn't go along with the group think you get attacked, called names, told to psss off, etc. etc. Why would want to shut down the ones who still want to enjoy the team despite the situation? Does it bother you that much that people aren't as angry as you? I get the need to criticize, we have 20,000 threads to do that in, so to continue to read the same thing again in the GAME thread can get annoying... more annoying than...well, I'll let you finish that thought.

Jaros looking excellent.

Jaros and Harpur have not looked bad at all. Would need to see them against class-A opponents at some point but they have shutdown potential. Jaros certainly hasn't hurt his chances this 1st period.
