Couture’s 3 team trade list ain’t gonna have Ottawa on it.
Couture is an LTIR candidate for those that may need the cap. He is probably going to approve any trade because he’s probably finished. The Sharks can go above the cap by 8 mil because of him but probably want to avoid it while rebuilding.

I’d want Chabot more than I’d want Tkachuk but neither are likely for the Sharks.

Blake would hurt, already a solid depth scoring option 20 games into his career and I see breakout potential in him. Would have to be a lesser prospect or mid round pick in addition to Svech and Blake if anything.

Lol tbh Brady for Svech is more than fair. Like Svech might be the better player if it weren't for injuries.

But Brady is so overrated so I like that teams will overpay because he's a "unicorn".

Is he actually LTIR-retired tho? And is the salary ensured?

He hasn’t skated since January and there aren’t really plans to. He’s not on LTIR in San José because they aren’t spending to the cap yet. I’m not certain about the insurance status though I’d expect any 8 year deal to be insured.

Staois and Green Baumer is a bad combination at GM and Coaching so if anything ownership should legitimize the front office staff and coaching then try to get a couple vets who help stabilize the core and culture.
No offense to Perron Jensen and Giroux who were all great players at one time and still have some miles but they need to spend that cap money on legitimate needle movers not guys that are 34 to 37 yrs old. Giroux was a good move but turning Chychrun and 8m in cap into Jensen Perron was a fireable offense for a team that should have at minimum a 3-5 yr outlook and should have been targeting players that fit that next step and beyond......and i like both guys but Perron after last year at 4 million x 2 and Jensen at 34 for Chychrun? Those are critical decisions that went really bad.
I would be terrified with that front office

False, Brady gets you more.

That’s a bad take, Jensen has been their best D this year.
Zub is available.

Feel free to enlighten me.
Staois blew 4m x 2 on Perron at 36 after an awful decline in Detroit and he's playing 4th line with Amadio. And i know he's been injured but big surprise warrior is breaking down
Jensen is a very good player but at 34 when he's done in 2yrs what will be left of the Chychrun trade? Would have to believe a 24-28yr old piece could have been returned No? Missed opportunity to add a core piece in Perron's cap money and then get a UFA in Jensens age category as a stop gap.
How well is your bottom 6 doing and depth defence.
Amadio was very good for Vegas so not a bad target but not exactly finding gems for depth pieces.
I liked the Ullmark trade...you've got to be happy to get rid of the Korpi contract and get a GK that should be good if he gets better defending

Green and Baumer suck....give it time.

Yes he's very good but he's also 34yrs old with a core of 22-25yr olds.

For this year it's a win but then what? Certainly a team with a young core looking to break into playoffs should be thinking longer term no?

I mean they’re still looking to break in this year. Maybe he’s available come TDL but you don’t move on from him 20 games in. As bleak as it looks the season isn’t over yet. Especially not with how bad the WC2 race is. I’m also not sure they move him this year rather than keep him considering he has another year left on his deal.

tbf given the Canes are in more of a win now window I would take Brady’s more consistent all around game at the moment over Svech’s more hot and cold inconsistencies even if I think Svech might have a higher ceiling

You have not watched the Senators enough my friend. If by all around you mean a an offensive player who hits yea that's Brady. But if you mean a player who is good in all three zones of the rink than Brady might be the least all around star in the NHL.

As for consistency, Brady will have one great game and follow it up with three duds where plays die on his stick or he just spams bad shots.

I would want Svech over Brady because he is better all around and capable of being a difference maker.

Giroux was pissed last game. He was yelling at green and teammates, he is pissed at the immaturity

Very winnable game, with Vancouver missing 4 of their top 5 players
You could tell ottawa could come back even at 4-1

Tkachuk just takes himself out of the game taking a game misconduct fighting a 4th liner. After just taking an idiotic minor breaking his stick on a player during a change. They have a clip of him during the game saying something to Tkachuk after the fight.l, probably along the lines of “yeah real smart”
