Ah, ya ok, agree on Lindgren, I've seen that. I agree that trade sucks and Kreider is slowing down to be sure but compared to Perron, for only 2.5 mil more I'll take the 9 goals and big physical guy for PP2 vs DP's donuts. We're talking about a guy who has been a Sens killer over the years and who potted 39 last year at an almost ppg clip 🤷‍♂️

Agreed. Norris for Kreider a decent starting point?
Sure but poster isn’t asking for Perron.

Kreider for Chabot the starting point. Norris can't stay healthy. rangers already have that guy in Chytil and need a top 4 LHD.

I get that, but he is a separate issue, I'm just looking for similar money to make room. Perron's 4 mil has been wasted so far and that money would have been better spent on 60% of the way to a Kreider imo.

Still need a wing for Jack Hughes. I’d think about something around Tkachuk for Nemec+.

Ottawa should get ahead of it before Brady demands a trade.

Were this July 1 at 11am still, I'd say absolutely, but Chabby paired with Jensen has been a revelation. Given that Sanderson is having what I expected would be a somewhat down year for a young kid who is suddenly swimming in money, Sens can't do that for now.

That's an easy hard NO

That would be a start.

Nemec, Mercer and a pick might be it?
No, again, hard pass, Sens are trying to compete with NJ, not help them to their own detriment. At this point I have more faith in Yak being better long term than Nemec and Mercer will never be a Brady. If Brady goes, you gotta compete with 30 other teams, gotta give to get. Nemec hasn't show much yet, is hurt atm and Mercer doesn't project high enough for that to be a winning package

I was thinking Anton Silayev but you guys have Sanderson and Chabot at LD.

They added 4 veteran guys in the off season, who won cups.
No reason to make the Sens worse, you can keep those guys.
I do t know what you’re talking about… the Sens would love Kreider. Plays fast, very physical, lots of skill and is a natural goal scorer for Timmy. Also brings a ton of leadership which we clearly need more of. Amadio, Perron, Cousins, and Jensen are a great start for leadership but there’s no such thing as too much.

Ya, true, but he would be a better start than Nemec, as would Hughes, but I wouldn't break up the brothers and again not at a position of need as much like RD. Nemec could be a great start tbf but just not atm given his status and how little he's had a chance to show

Oh the irony of saying there's no such thing as too much veteran leadership, given your avatar and the Pens current situation, lol. Totally agree on Kreider though and love Karl tbh, but Pit is a disaster

I mean if you guys are going to shake up the core anyway, Silayev+Mercer as a base for Tkachuk is interesting.

In the off-season, explore a Chabot trade, preferably for a right shot defenseman. Without thinking too much on it, maybe Rasmus Andersson is a discussion.

Ya, but Brady is the heartbeat, be tough for someone to keep an upward trajectory when you rip their heart out and Mercer is nice, but not quite nice enough. Silayev addresses value, but not need. It's pretty well established that Chabby, Norris & Drake are the more likely guys to choose from with Norris being the primary target for me. Anyone Brady's age or younger should be off the list

Is there first this year gone or can they skip to next year to forfeit the 1st rounder?

Bathering is value for the dollar, hard to do better.

Chabot yea...I would move

Norris has more value to Ottawa than he will anywhere else because of the shoulder history.

I think Brady may tell Ottawa he wants out.

Brady is under contract until '28, so if he does, too bad, he won't be moved until summer of '27. Completely agree on Bath and Chabby has been a different player since get a stable partner like Jensen, who has been fantastic. I like Norris, but as someone who has dealt with piles of bad shoulder injuries myself, I want him gone the second he can recoup some positive value and would have bought him out this past summer were it possible, given the under 26 1/3rd rule. TBH I don't see Staios doing anything big in season, so maybe one or both Chabby and Norris go this summer, but not b4, this is all moot

We can skip to next year but if we trade our core then we may be worse. Tough position to be in.
Still banking on Bettman reducing that penalty, Andlauer was deceived and he knows it

That penalty was too harsh. Should have been a third round pick and a fine. Coyotes punishment was too harsh as well. They ended up giving up 11th overall. When your taking away 1st rounders like that your punishing the fans and future management and people who did nothing wrong. It especially hurts Ottawa who have blown 1sts on Debrincat, Chychrun, Boucher, Duchene ect.

What would Ottawa fans want from San Jose for both Chabot and Tkachuk? The Sharks would need to send back at least 8.6 mil in cap to make it fit for the cap.
