Yes sir.

Who knows. Looks like its the area directly tied to the transformer on merivale, no idea how bad the damage is. Im hoping tonight.

Stil gunna have to throw away a few hundred dollars in frozen meat though

Check with your insurance company on the spoiled food. We have a zero deductible on food that is spoiled from power outages.

We ended up submitting about $200 worth. It's a pain to itemize everything, but especially for good cuts of meat, I thought it was worth it.

Yeah I'm lucky, I'm just at the North end of it all closer to baseline. So the tornado didn't really touch my street. I wouldn't have known there was one if not for the news, it was windy but nothing close to what caused all the damage.

Crazy how focussed a tornado is. How destructive in such a small area.

It's interesting tho, I'm irritated cause I can't watch YouTube videos before bed and need to do a big grocery order while other people have had their lives completely uprooted a kilometer away.

In just a terrible human being I suppose lol

My poor parents were evacuated Friday evening. They live in the Mont-Bleu area which was severely hit. They had to moved 3 times in 4 days. It’s been really difficult.

I don’t wish this on anyone.

Hardest part of being adult has to be dealing with the fact that so many people project authority instead of simply admitting to not being an authority on a topic.

I keep getting burnt because I'm (too) trusting. How in the world does one find balance? I don't want to not trust (I don't mean on an emotional level) anyone but sometimes it feel like it's the only one to not get burnt.

I get that. I usually try to not say anything unless I am fairly confident I can find a legitimate source to back me up, and if I am only somewhat confident I usually mention that I am not one hundred percent sure. However many people will say anything like a fact and it is natural to trust them, but if they say something you know is wrong then I don't really know how seriously to take the other things they said.

I agree but I have no advice. I guess all I can say is to learn you can’t control everything and focus on things that you can control instead.

Yeah. All the negotiation bs is the worst part of buying a car. Just put prices up. Let me come in and buy it like a retail store.

Especially when half of the salespeople now pretty much don't want to work out prices for you in store and just tell you to check out the website to figure out most of the sales (those are the people who we didn't go back to).

I mean, even when I ask something like can you give me a schedule of prices for recommended maintenance in the first 50k km or so... It's "I don't know that, you'd have to ask our service department".

if you are in Ottawa use Carsense, great car broker - $500-800 or so - tell him what you want (or an idea) and he'll get you as good at least as good a deal as if you wasted all your own time haggling. Handles all the paperwork, you essentially show up to test drive and to sign. The cost pays for itself in the savings.
generally somewhat higher end cars but not exclusively.

here ends todays PSA

Remember when I mentioned those cruise ads HF was giving me. Now they are giving me ads for apartments in Chennai that offer "Portugese living".

Hardest part about being an adult is getting to the point where you finally understand that most of what you thought was important in your youth was all a bunch of bullcrap, and then fully comprehending and coming to terms with the insane amount of time you wasted worrying and obsessing about crap that literally does not matter at all.

Yeah that and raising children I assume. I was a bit self-absorbed in my own disappointment there....

Hot take: North Americans (on average, I'm obviously not lumping in 100% of the entire continent here) have an awful impression of what "good food" tastes like.

The number of garbage "4-star" restaurants here is mind bottling.
