So I guess the answer to my question is no, you're not willing to acknowledge you posted clear misinformation? I don't really have the time or desire to fact check everything you post and clearly you don't feel it's important to ensure your own posts are accurate, it would be one thing if you just didn't realize what you were posting was outright false and misleading, but it's become pretty clear the truth isn't what your after, instead the most generous interpretation of your actions is you just want to see things that support your view regardless of whether it stands up to even the very minimal amount of scrutiny.

Keep yelling at the clouds,

I See you can’t keep an open mind.

I’ve posted multiple sources that point out the. Environmental impact of manufacturing BEVs, operating BEVs and the downside of their end of life visa vie recycling…… you want to think there is zero environmental impact… good, keep on.

What I don’t understand, is the BEV people are all about this environmental saving nonsense….but how do these people think when these batteries are rendered useless and basically much to expensive to replace that the car is garbage?? There are multiple Ferrari owners now dealing with battery replacement for their LaFerrari cars. The cost is over $300,000USD. How about all the Tesla people who own the first generation cars are also dealing with battery replacements. They are dropping the cars off at the scrap yard and just buying a new car. Way to save the environment. Nonsense

I've never once said I think they have no environmental impact, sorry to disappoint you. what I have done is occasionally pointed out when you've posted outright misinformation and showed why,

The problem is every time you post something, much of which has come from dubious sources, I have do all the due diligence you seem to be uninterested in doing before accepting something and disseminating it. I simply don't have the time or patience to fact check everything you post, you've proven beyond a doubt that you are unreliable when it comes to ensuring what you post is factual before posting, and given that it's clear there's no real benefit in continuing, the truth isn't important to you, that's pretty clear

While there are certainly issues with battery technology and EVs, I'd rather get my information from known reliable sources than wade through the dubiously curated firehose you post.

I can't speak for others, but the allure of an EV to me is entirely based on my use case, it offers me the potential of additional performance and convenience of home charging while saving me money over it's lifespan. Any environment benefits would be a bonus.

Modern EVs are built with the battery as a lifetime part, they have an expected lifespan of as much as 300000 miles which is more than your typical ice car, real world studies showed 1st gen batteries degraded about 7-12% (depending on the study) after 200000 miles on average, and should have lots of life left (some estimates go as far as 500000 miles) before getting to the 20% degradation threshold generally considered as in need of replacement at which point battery packs are recycled (there were plans to repurpose them for things like home battery packs for solar setups but I don't think that materialized). On the flip side, 200000 miles is considered the typical lifespan of an ice vehicle at which point you are generally having serious issues.

The range tradeoff, along with the limited charging infrastructure doesn't work for everyone, which is perfectly fine, buy what's right for you.

I agree with you, that everyone should make the choice that works for them.

I see a BEV as the prefect second vehicle to be used in the city, but only if the cost of installing a recharging station at your residence is reasonable otherwise I would consider a Hybrid as the second vehicle.and the ideal second vehicle, again for use in the city and for long distance travel, without any range trade off….

If your situation only allows for a single vehicle, the I would go with the Hybrid…this technology has been around for decades and is proven…and l am considering a Hybrid when it’s time for another vehicle.

About 5 years ago, a golf of golfers headed down to Myrtle Beach for a week of golfing and one of the guys brought his Tesla … but he had to factor in an addition day ( 1 and 1/2 day drive in an ICE vehicle ) of travel there and back, just because of the limited range, the additional stops to recharge and the additional time time to recharge…. So he and his driving companions had to add in an additional night at a motel going and returning…… this is not a good selling point me and many others and so suspect things are improving but not fast enought for me. While down in MB I went for a few rides in the Tesla and it is an amazing vehicle in many ways, the technology is incredible….

This stuff ain't for me. We gettin' close to core belief what makes a person a person. You want do an 8 para post about how we have to trade one of Chabby or Chych, but not both because some dumb shit reason, and then drop 8m on a rd that is the same type of player as Chabby or Chych, so we can run a fcked up D core again. I might have something for you.

Jesus christ that looks terrible. Are they adding shitty tequila vodka because that weak ass beer won't get them day drunk enough? Blech.

I think Thompsontown is up and running - at least collecting sap. They serve a pretty good brunch and it's fairly close!
I used to make a drink similar in the day, and it will be very good

To each their own! Reminds me too much of mixing OJ and Max Ice as a brokeass university student :D

I'm a fan of a classic gin and tonic or a tom collins on a hot day (links or not)

A prof in University shared a drink recipe with me:

I can on lemonade concentrate, the one from the freezer.
3 beers
fill the empty lemonade can with Vodka

I asked the prof, if we need to add water as there was basically all booze. He replied " there is enough water in the beer, son"...

It is potent and delicious!

Going to try this with lime concentrate, tequila and Coronas

Failure to Charge: A Critical Look at Canada’s EV Policy,” isn’t “realistic or feasible” because it would mean the equivalent of constructing 10 new mega hydro dams across the country, or 13 new large-scale natural gas plants.

Anyone in the orleans area and goes to the 10th line car show/meet up on Thursday evenings in the summer?

Curious when that will start up again.

Sometimes there's really cool cars there and fun little competitions and stuff.

Sounds like a shandy with extra steps! I'll be trying this over the summer, sounds awesome.

That usually starts in May I believe. Depending on what type of cars your into, there is a more exclusive car club that has meets. Some are member meets, but there are huge public meets. Mostly the cars are all modern exotics. Loads of Lamborghini, Maclaren etc. Ottawa has some pretty serious heavy hitters for exotics. If you are into that sort of thing, I can keep you posted.

I haven't been in a long time, so idk if they still do it, but there used to be one on Wednesdays at place d'orleans in the summer. I never went to one by the Rey Friel unless you count a quick walk by the cars with the kids after going swimming but that was summer break so doesn't help with "when it starts". There always seemed to be a guy with a Hyundai Genesis with the tricoat chroma flair paint job.

there were Car shows at the race track/casino and a smaller one in Kemptville. Are they still going?

The race track/Casino was terrific, fairly large.

Used to go to the Merivale/Meadowlands car meet quite a bit. Nice mix of everything, tuners, classics, exotics. One person came with an immaculate GMC Typhoon, gotta love sleepers!
